Good question. No, it is not. We have developed new hardware since the IR is set several decades after the Galactic Empire. The fighters in the IR Navy were deviced from one family, called EID (Enhanced Impulse Drive). Several models have been created and each of them has its own mission profile. Do remind me to post a general description in the Naval Headquarters.

You can apply to any branch in the IR and you will be informed if there are positions available in said branch.

Another question: how long should I wait to pick a back-up department? I don't know if my application was accepted, recieved, or anything. There has been no word.

If I am not accepted into one place, is that meaning I can't be in another?

Well, it would usually take a couple of days for them to contact you.

Tell you what. Why don't you list the departments of your interest and then we can see what we can do.

To be entirely honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. I gathered the IRSB was kind of like cops, compared to the actual military.

I would like an agent, or a sniper kind of job, if possible. Sniper would be my first choice.

Sorry for seeming pushy, but I kind of need to center my profile around where I am stationed. And Jacen has been OH SO HELPFUL since he had me join. (teasing ...)

IRSB is inded the cops in this game. I do wonder where they are since they are supposed to be everywhere... hehehe

The sniper job would be either as part of the Army or part of Special Operations. Since we closed the latter, the Army would be your choice.

Of course, there are other jobs where you may join us, like Government, Intelligence, Private sector, etc.

I am talking to Jacen by IM, and he says that the action is in the Navy. From what I am reading, he's right. But I don't really know how to seperate the branches here. The IRSB was the only one that made sense to me.

Army are soldiers, and Navy is like the real Navy, but not limited to one planet, right?

And if I decide to join the Army, could I become active in roleplay?

If you are interested in joining with the IRSB, please contact Tavria Treyson, who is the ultimate overseer over that department. She is quite a busy lady so understand if there is some delay.

There are opportunities in both the Navy and the Army, and all aspects of government. We need both. We have more Navy than Army, but both amounts are pretty sad. If you wish you can create a secondary character for the Navy if you wish your other character to be primary. Multi-accounts are permitted in this RPG. The Army and the Navy both travel from planet to planet. The Army specializes in ground combat and generally travels with the Navy as its escort from planet to planet. The Navy has the big spaceships that have space combat and battles.

So I can make miltiple characters? Do they need to be registered somehow? I think it would be a grand idea, but I would like some experience first.

I would be interested in the army, as well. Are they active in the current happenings? I don't want to jump in or commit to anything when they are busy with set plans, or the opposite and doing nothing.

Well, the Navy is the largest branch in the IR, so that is probably why much of the action happens in our side. Even though we have several people that are on extended LOA, but there is always something to do.

Indeed, Army are soldiers and they are not limited to one planet. Think of them as a mix of Marines and soldiers. They are highly trained and they can go wherever they are needed. They can be stationed in a planet or they can be stationed in a ship, thus traveling around the galaxy. You can always become active in roleplaying. General Cognatus is now back and despite the fact that there are fewer people in the Army than in the Navy, you will see a lot of action. We will work on that.

I do not believe their is much of an application process for the Army - just send a message to General Cognatus (PM Dene Vye Cognatus) and he will get you going.

In the interest of not sending another message with a question to OVERMIND, I'm gonna ask it here for other new members who are probably curious.

I have been through the technical database and read every topic. I use them as reference points frequently (then started using Wookiepedia, where they came from, because of the easier searching options). But I am not finding much on Army. Positions, descriptions, characters and their ranks ...

Is this compiled anywhere?
