Passing of the Torch

Recently, the resignation of former Director Jenov Raveshaw has left a large whole in the vacuum of knowledge that is the Imperial Republic Intelligence Service. Members of the organization's Security Council had been jointly handling the command and coordination duties normally vested in the organization's chief of staff.

Approximately one week ago, Dowager Empress Layha Solo-Katarn appointed Deputy Director under Director Raveshaw, Revan Centurion, as the new Director of the Imperial Republic Intelligence Service. Fortunately, the Director was able to spare a few moments to share his thoughts and views on the direction of IRIS.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the Imperial Republic. Filling the void left by my predecessor and mentor, Director Raveshaw, will by no means be an easy task. However, I can assure you that the professionals working within IRIS are fully capable of carrying on in these...troubling times for our government. We will work tirelessly to ensure that you the citizens are fully protected from the actions of those that strive to upset the balance between freedom and order. This balance...that makes us unique from the Galactic Empire and the New Republic. Be not alarmed when shadows spread to your corner of the galaxy, for we are your guardians in darkness..."

Director Centurion was unable to provide further comment, but the results of his energetic and sweeping policy changes have already become evident in many aspects of Imperial Republic intelligence handling policy. Agents across the galaxy are quickly becoming familiar with the Director's belief that, "Opportunity Only Knocks Once".
