Layha's escort shuttle landed safely in the Palace Hanger a week to the day she had left for Melida/Daan. Layha turned to her hand maiden. "Call my advisor's. Tell them I want them in my office in less than 30 minutes." The woman nodded and went to make the call. Meanwhile Layha was escorted off the shuttle by her Daughter, Rhowen and her Guard. Out of all of them it was Phoenix who seemed the most worried. "Mum are you sure you can walk? Can I get you a hover seat?" Layha shook her head. "Nixy darling it was a scratch. I'll be fine. Give it a few days and it will be completely healed." she bent over and kissed her daughters head. "I promise." She forced a smile and headed in to the Palace. The moment she was inside she was flooded with reports. For the next few moments she was busy signing release forms, documents, disapproving others and so on. Fifteen minutes later she was able to make it into the Great Hall. She told Phoenix she would be with her in a few hours after she met with her advisor's. Phoenix nodded gave her a warning about over doing it then disappeared down the hall. Layha and Rhowen made their way to Layha's office. Coleana was there waiting as the two entered. She held up a stack of papers. Layha made a face. "I know, its more paper work, but there are a few files you need to take a look at. Also I got the call to alert your advisor's they should all be here shortly." Layha nodded, thanked Coleana then entered her office with Rhowen close behind. Layha shifted through the stack and one report caught her eye. "What is it?" Rhowen asked. Layha sighed. "Its letter... from Jim. It reads... "Layha for some time now I have felt a change in the Force. I feel I am to far away and cannot pinpoint what this feeling is. I just thought I would write to warn you... be mindful of your surroundings. On a lighter note, I hope all is well and this letter finds you in good health... yada yada." Layha shook her head. "A lot more than a simple warning would have been great Jim." she folded up the letter and tossed it back on her desk. She continued to shift through the reports. Signing here and there, deleting unwanted files and so on... that is until she came to the very last data pad. The moment she read it, she knew Coleana had stuck it at the very bottom of the stack on purpose. Layha pulled the pad out and flipped through the info. So many different emotions swept over her body in that moment that she felt like she was having heart failure. Her heart raced for several different reasons.... anger, lust, longing, hatred, and so many others. Rhowen noticed it immediately and came closer to the desk, her brows in a fury. "Layha whats wrong?"

Layha shook her head and started laughing... a very stressed and pissed laugh. "You know, I gave the man his freedom. Cut him loose of this hell we call the Imperial Republic. Gave him free range, cut all strings that bound him to me. completely erased everything that connected him to me so he would have a fresh start, and the idiot goes and pulls this crap!" She tossed the datapad on to the desk. Rhowen picked it up and briefed it. She rolled her eyes. "Its Revan Centurion Layha... what did you expect?"

"I thought he had some sort of brain, but clearly I was mistaken." she stood from her seat. "What does he possible think he will gain by doing this?" Rhowen shrugged. "Hell if I know. Revan was always... different. He never did anything that made any sense to me. But I never really had to deal with him so I never really cared. I mean expect for that one..." her words trailed off. Layha nodded as if completing Rhowen's sentence in her mind. "Yeah I know. I had hoped that that situation would have grounded him a little. I guess that was to much to ask."

"Well what should we do?" Layha turned to her console on the wall. She tapped in a code and a moment later Vaughn's face appeared on the screen.

"Empress,"

"Vaughn. I have a situation. I was just informed by the Ubiqtorate that there was an informant who called in and informed us that several locations of the Reserve Shipments will be hit tonight. Correspond with the IRIS and close this operation down. Don't kill anyone if you don't have to, I want survivors, I need them to talk. I have a feeling some one else is involved and I want proof."

Vaughn cocked a brow. "Who?"

"Centurion." she said coldly. Vaughn nodded. "A turf I think is best fit for you." Layha nodded. "He seems to be in to game playing, I am not in the mood to play. I have to much crap to deal with and he is pushing me to my limits."

"I thought he was living the sweet life on Naboo."

"Well apparently living a simple life is just to complicated for him. He has to go and look for trouble to get a kick out of life. Don't worry about Centurion. Find the men and bring them in." Vaughn nodded and Layha cut communication.

"I swear if he goes any farther with this game I will have the pleasure of killing him myself." she fumed.

Four Days Following 'Subtle Return'

Antolev had checked the calibration on his relic of a DY-225 probably close to five times now. The cool night air of Coruscant whipped through his black overcoat as he sat low in the seat of his low-profile speeder. It didn't really matter what time of day it was on Coruscant, skylane traffic was always ridiculous. On this particular night, that was Antolev's main benefit. The hustle and bustle of Coruscant made it inexplicably easy for him to simply blend with his surroundings. According to the small digital chronograph on the console of his speeder, his target would be arriving at any moment. "This had better be a legitimate operation..."

-------------------------------

Meanwhile a cloaked figure watched from the pinnacle of a nearby building. The only feature that could be discerned amongst the darkness were two vibrant green eyes that pierced the atmosphere around them. As a slow smirk gradually spread across Revan's face, the shuttle that he'd been waiting on appeared from around the corner of a distant building. Well-armed and, of course, escorted by a private security corporation of some sort - the shuttle touched down smoothly on the Reserve Bank's datapad. Revan had to smile at the subtle professionalism of the security force. Such things weren't exactly unheard of. Theoretically, they were subject to IRSB jurisdiction and ultimate control but there existed ways around just about everything. Usually it required some amount of political or financial clot. Seeing as political span of control was on the decline these days, Revan assumed it had more to do with the latter. Corrupt government officials? Unlikely, but Revan did not write it off completely. As two speeders began approach at high speed from the west, Revan knew the fun was just about to begin.

---------------------------------

Antolev had signaled the rest of the team as soon as he had positively identified the shuttle. Remaining seated, he kept an eye on the area, eagerly awaiting the completion of this task. In that instant, Antolev felt a warm sensation course through his body...know it was making it's way down the side of his neck. Closing his eyes, Antolev reached back and realized it was a liquid of some sort. Even as the crimson-colored fluid became visible to him upon his fingers, his last breath escaped his lips. The communicator laying in the seat next to him erupted almost immediately with chatter. "Antolev! Antolev what the hell! Where did all these...hey watch it! No, no, take it over there." Each word was broken by the sounds of rapid succession blaster fire and muffled screams.

----------------------------------

Revan simply watched it all happen. The criminals never really stood a chance. Sure, they'd enjoyed more sex than any other attempts in history, but that was due in very large part to Revan's information. Unfortunately for them, they had been naive enough to believe that he really was interested in their success. What could Revan stand to gain from effectively robbing a bank? He was already rich. He didn't need the accolades, he'd already built a reputation on Coruscant and so many other planets. Most of them negative...but that was largely irrelevant. People would forever see what they wanted to see. Revan was not responsible for the misconceptions of others. Even now as forces Revan more or less assumed to be IRSB disguised as Federal Reserve and private security guards took the few living criminals into custody, Revan pulled his communicator from his pocket. Pressing in a pre-determined code, he sent an encrypted signal to a 'package' he'd left on Antolev's speeder. The speeder itself exploded into a brilliant ball of orange flames. Traffic in the area came practically to a stand-still as citizens were caught off guard. Several traffic accidents were caused in the process...all of which Revan simply allowed to happen. If he'd been paying attention, perhaps he could have done something to prevent the accidents. Collateral damage... Shrugging his shoulders slightly, Revan continued to look on. He wasn't worried about his silhouette being seen against the horizon. Nobody would likely be able to get anywhere near him...unless of course he allowed his concentration to waiver. Cloaked in the force, Revan was just an image at the top of a building - nothing more.

Random Rooftop

It hadn't been easy locating him, but she would never admit that. He had grown strong in his powers, and that set Layha on a uneasy edge. She stood behind him for a moment trying to figure his motives out. The more she thought about it the more confused and pissed she became. She watched as his cloak got caught in the wind and billowed about him. Layha gritted her teeth and stepped forward. She didn't look at him as she came shoulder to shoulder with him. She peered over the edge and watched her men at work. "You know its funny how these idiots knew about the reserves." Layha laughed. "You know, I just don't get it." she shook her head. "I gave you your freedom. So what the hell are you doing? What do you possible think you will gain from pissing me off Revan?"

Revan had felt Layha's presence draw near. Not so much her literal force presence as she was good about keeping that hidden. They'd both long since learned the extremely high value of that particular 'ability'. Then how did he know she was there? She didn't make any noise. No, like himself, Layha tended to simply 'appear' places at seemingly random times. Perhaps it was just some sort of weird intuition or connection he shared with Layha that transcended normal boundaries. After all, she had been his teacher at one point. Later she went on to be his lover and the only real thing he tended to care for in this galaxy aside from the force itself. Now, she was a seemingly different person entirely, and the mother of his child. Revan never agreed with a lot of Layha's life decisions. He suspected that she felt the same about him. Still, regardless of what she felt, he would always love her for giving him Jayden. That was one thing that would never change. Briefly, it occurred to Revan that the time had likely arrived to tell Jayden the truth about his mother. I really do not want to deal with that.

When Layha had finally stepped beside him, Revan continued to watch the scene unfold. "You know its funny how these idiots knew about the reserves." Layha laughed. "You know, I just don't get it." she shook her head. "I gave you your freedom. So what the hell are you doing? What do you possible think you will gain from pissing me off Revan?"

Without moving, Revan replied in a calm, deep voice. "So challenging are the lives of men. The constant struggle of balancing between aspiration and reality. The only thing that truly separates the powerful from the powerless...is the ability to force those two to coincide. Simply put...the ability to affect your control over others, to manipulate them to achieve your own end. Kings and pawns as it were." Revan motioned towards the officials dragging the remaining criminals into custody. "Positions in this life mean nothing if you know not how to wield the authority you attempt to assert over others. These criminals knew the specifics of the shipment because I leaked them the information. Your people were here to thwart their would-be heist because I leaked the information of their plans to Crystal. I knew that the giant cogs that are the Imperial Republic would eventually be set into motion. Forcing you to allow your emotion to get the best of you...and bring you here."

Turning his head to finally glance slightly at Layha, Revan smirked. "Likewise, the entire struggle was caught on holofilm." Waving his left hand slightly, Revan commanded a small circular disk from a holorecorder he had placed at the edge of the building towards him. His location seemed not so random anymore. It did, in fact, have the perfect location. Allowing the disk to float past him and towards Layha, Revan turned back towards the scene. "You'll want to give that to your media people. A bit of...positive propaganda to counteract the effects of your recent political decisions." Revan paused for a moment, finally taking the time to consider what she'd said to him. It almost made him laugh. "Gave me my freedom? I always was free, Layha. You never kept me bound to anything that I did not willingly choose to do. If anything, you gave yourself freedom. Pawning off our child on me so you could go about gallivanting in darkness and destroying what little comfort most people in this galaxy had with the present government. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning your actions. You know I never liked the Senate, but politically - you went about it in a rather...abruptly unjustified manner. At least, that is the perception your people have...far and wide. So...don't pretend like you did me any favors. As always, you merely did what you perceived as best for you. A true pillar of leadership you are, Layha. Anyways...that isn't the point. I stand to gain nothing from any of this. The only people that could possibly benefit are you and the Imperial...whatever."

Turning his body completely towards Layha, Revan cracked a slight smile. It was all he could do to keep other emotions and desires which he'd long suppressed from resurfacing. "You know all this though Layha. You've never been stupid, merely stubborn. Trust me, nobody can recognize that particular personality flaw better than you and I. So then the real question is...why did you come here? To hear me say what you knew I thought all along? Were you so intrigued by my presence on Coruscant that you're wondering why I'm doing what I've always been good at? Come now, I'm sure much more pressing matters grab your attention. What you should really be asking yourself...is why I went to such lengths simply to draw you away from your daily activities, aside from the fact that it's decidedly more fun this way of course. The answer to that may be a bit more ambiguous and worthy of your contemplation. As always, I can provide you with the answer, but it will require you accompanying me back to my apartment." Revan's smile transformed into a slight smirk before dissipating. "Don't read into it, Layha."

Layha’s face grew warm with emotions that she couldn’t quite explain at the moment. Revan’s slight smile made her want to slap him across the face or grab him and kiss him passionately. Both actions wouldn’t get her anywhere and she opted for turning away from him to recollect herself.

“If you think for one moment I gave you Jayden because it would better my life you are gravely mistaken.” She turned to him her teeth hurting from gritting them so tightly. “I gave him to you because I am not a good mother. I thought it was in his best interest to keep him with you. If he is a burden to you and you flitty life, then give him to me. I would gladly take my son back.”

She peered over the edge again and watched the crew clean up the mess. “I am done playing games Revan. If you really wanted to talk to me you could have come to my office or my quarters. Stop playing with peoples lives to get to me.” She folded her arms and pulled her cloak closer to her body. The wind had really picked up and it sent chills down her back and raised goosebumps on her arms. He always knew how to confuse her. Half the time she didn’t understand his reasoning or just plainly didn’t care. Both of them were on completely different levels of understanding, yet there was something there that kept pulling them back together. The real questions… why was she truly here. Was it because she wanted to see him? It had been close to five years since she last laid eyes on him. Was because she missed his sly smiles and those piercing green eyes? She wasn’t sure and she would never admit this to him. Instead she turned to him,

“To answer you questions Revan, I am here to warn you. Don’t underestimate me. You may be a Grand Master now. You may have some insight into the light and dark worlds, but that is nothing compared to what I do know. I do not play games Revan. This is my world now. Go ahead have you delusions of grandeur, believe that I am a person who is controlled by emotions and stupid idea’s, that I don’t know the first thing about ruling or leadership. I can assure you have made a mistake,” she stepped in closer to him to the point where her lips where mere inches from his. “I love you Revan with all my heart, but I will kill you if you force my hand. Don’t do it, for Jayden’s sake.” She didn't step away, but waited for him to make his next move.

Revan smirked slightly when Layha had finished speaking. Like her, he too felt a wide spectrum of emotions at that particular point in time. Still, having been forced to live with them for the better part of five years, he was able to maintain control of both his thoughts and actions. Certainly something that had eluded him in the past. "Come now Layha. You and I both know that the only way to be a Shadow Master is to, in fact, master both sides of the force. Hence why we exist merely to keep the balance. I highly doubt there is anything you can teach me about the dark side - after all, I'd been a student of that particular 'school' long before you." Revan sighed slightly. His purpose here was not to argue with Layha. "Anyways, it's a pointless conversation to have. I'm not here to make threats, and I've made none. I'm sure one day you'll realize that your threats mean very little to me. If you truly believe I'm the one with delusions of grandeur, then your grip of reality is nearly...laughable. However, I digress." There were times though when Revan was...shocked by Layha's level of insight. Specifically, when she actually admitted to her faults. Nobody liked to do it, Revan certainly hated it. Still, he wasn't sure whether or not he would classify her as a bad mother. In fact, she quite frequently put the life of her children ahead of whatever else she probably should have been doing. At least, that was what Revan used to think. Having cared for Jayden these past five years had been the single greatest joy of his life, and it was certainly the first time he understood the impulse to protect his own over all others. Revan would let criminals and IRSB officers alike die by the hundreds if it contributed to the stabilization of the galaxy. Yet...a part of him wondered whether or not he would let the galaxy succumb to its fate simply to save Jayden?

Naturally, the only real solution to the problem was to ensure the boy was raised properly and always protected by those that could be trusted. The soft beep of Revan's datapad broke the lingering silence. Glancing down at the device attached to his belt, Revan took a step back from Layha. "So now we're concerned about Jayden's well-being, are we? How pleased do you think he would be to find out that he's the son of Layha Solo?" Revan's expression changed in that instance. It wasn't annoyance, anger, or a smug grin. For all intents and purposes, he seemed disheartened somehow. The simple truth of the matter was...Revan's single greatest regret was that he'd kept the identity of Jayden's mother from the child simply because he did not want him to be disappointed. Revan wasn't 'liberal' by any means, but the vast majority of Naboo certainly was. Certainly part of the reason Revan was surprised to be named Regent. His own political ideals didn't exactly align with the masses. As much as Jayden was like Revan, he was still an impressionable child. Glancing out towards the skylanes, Revan let out an exasperated sigh. "Very little matters much to be these days, Layha. I've given up a lot in my years. I know you've done the same. All I truthfully have left...is the love I have for my son. The son that you left me to care for. The son you claim to still love and cherish...yet have made absolutely no effort to ever contact, or meet." Revan turned his gaze back towards Layha. "You don't know anything about Jayden, and you very clearly do not care. So don't play games with me Layha. If you're going to be involved...then be involved. Just because you've had bad luck, does not necessarily make you a bad mother. Oh and please do me a favor, don't pretend to care about the lives of your 'people' when you would willingly attempt to starve an entire race out of their homes simply because you're as stubborn as your Aunt. My advice, expose Caralon for the traitor she is and just kill her. Dragging this out only makes you look worse and her more of a martyr."

As soon as the words had left his lips, Revan turned and started walking towards the other edge of the rooftop. Glancing over his shoulder, he inclined his head slightly, indicating for Layha to follow. "Come on. Someone has just arrived that I think you should meet...or you can run off again. I stopped distancing myself from problems long ago dear, how about you?" The smirk had returned to Revan's face, but his statement was indeed a serious one. Either way, he knew Layha had a way to follow or otherwise reach their destination. She knew where he lived after all. Hoping on to his speeder bike, Revan hit the accelerator and sped off into the distance. Tavria had finally arrived with Jayden.

Layha's eyes narrowed as Revan spoke. She wanted to hake her head at his accusations and what not. No he was right she had never made contact with Jayden, but she knew him from a distance. She had watched him grow up from afar and that suited her. It was best for him not to know, not to be around. It was because of her Tatum and Tatianna were still missing. “I’ve moved past actually caring what you think of me Revan, its irrelevant to any case. Second do me a favor and stay out of my family business. You know as well as I do that no one on Hapes is starving and it is quite near impossible to blockade the Cluster. What I am doing there is my own business and none of yours or any one else’s for that matter. Hapes is not part of the IR and never will be and therefore is none of the IR’s concern what I do there.” Layha ended it there. Caralon had used her and when she needed her Aunt the most she had stabbed her in the back. This was Layah’s revenge and it was far from over. She turned away from Revan as he spoke again. “Come on. Someone has just arrived that I think you should meet...or you can run off again.”

She said nothing and didn’t even look at him. He left moment later and Layha stood debating on whether to follow or stay. She selected the latter and jumped from the ledge. The force guided her to the ground. IRSB officers looked in her direction as she landed gracefully, her cloak billowing around her slender body.

“Empress,” one officer saluted. Layha nodded and turned to survey the scene. “Good work boys.”
“Only one was killed your Highness. The rest we bagged and they are being transported to the MP HQ for interrogation.” Layha nodded.

“Have Under Director Crowe interrogate the men. I want a full report on my desk by morning.”

The officer nodded. “Yes Ma’am.” Layha noticed an IRSB swoop off to one side. “Commander I going to be borrow your swoop.” The man nodded and Layha jumped on and took off into the distance.

Revan thought about Layha's comments on the way back to his apartment but only briefly. Truth be told, he did not give a damn what she did to or with her own family. They were all pretty much on the same plane of thought as far as he was concerned. Naturally, of course, she assumed he was concerned about her feud with Caralon - something everyone was all too aware of. No, Revan was concerned for his own family. For people like his cousin that could not go home without putting up with the hassle of some ill-conceived blockade. Whether Hapes was part of the IR or not, Layha's actions still affected both. For now, those effects were decidedly less than positive, period.

As the speeder bike came to its destination, Revan slowed the vehicle. The reduced speed instantly cut down the amount of chilling air whipping through his cloak, providing with a fleeting, false sense of warmth. Without missing a beat, Revan pulled immediately into the garage of the facility and made his way to his reserved spot. Hopping off the bike, he briefly smoothed out the black jumpsuit beneath his cloak before making his way to the lift. Within a matter of moments, he was walking down the corridor that lead to his penthouse entrance. Fortunately, it was only accessible with a code that only Revan and Selina knew. Tavria and Jayden would know if Revan had even thought to tell them. After all, he didn't really expect to be back on Coruscant so soon. Nodding his head to his security personnel in the hallway, Revan silently confirmed that Tavria and Jayden had indeed arrived. "Gentlemen."

The three guards bowed slightly. "Your Excellency."

As Revan unlocked the ornate wooden door, he pushed it open and stepped inside. Almost immediately after closing the door behind him, he felt two small arms clutching his leg. Looking down at Jayden, Revan smiled slightly. "Whoa, ease up on your old man buddy. I'm getting weaker by the day."

Jayden looked up at his father with a 'yeah right' expression. "Sure Dad. Where have you been anyways?"

"Sightseeing. The better question is what are you still doing up young man?"

Jayden pouted slightly before shuffling off towards his room, Selina by his side.

She had only been to Revan’s place once… maybe twice. The apartment was in eyesight and a sudden sick feeling swept over her body. She quickly pulled the bike to a stop and hovered for a moment in place. Her Amber eyes twinkled as she connected with the Force. *Why am I here Revan.*

Revan had just taken a seat on one of the large couches when he felt Layha's familiar presence. The sensation was quickly followed by the sound of her voice in his head. Her comment made him smirk somewhat. *I can't speak to your motivation to come here, but I imagine it has to do with you being intrigued by what I wanted to show you.* Revan glanced down the hallway towards where Jayden was. Tavria had disappeared off to some other area of the penthouse, and Selina was making her way back over to him.

"So are you just going to sit there or are you going to say goodnight to your son?"

Revan laughed slightly, "I'll be there in a moment. Do me a favor, don't let the guards shoot Layha when she comes up. I'd hate for them to commit such a pointless act." If they did, it would probably be the last time they made that mistake. Then again, there was no way for them to know what Layha was. Who she was made very little difference to them. A typical Naboo mentality at any rate...yet another thing he'd have to work to change in the coming months.

"Layha? Coming here? Revan do you think that's...wise?"

Revan shrugged as he came to his feet. "Probably not, send her back when she gets here. Oh and...it's best if you just don't say anything to her aside from where to find me." Selina's love for Layha was...well...at an all-time low these days. Really though, Revan had only noticed the feeling since their return to Coruscant. Selina vaguely reminded Revan of Layha's bratty teenage cousin...minus the bratty part. The obsession, certainly still there. Just a lack of options on her part, Revan.

Making his way into Jayden's room, Revan sat upright in his son's bed with him, pulling him over into his lap. "Jayden there is something I've been meaning to tell you..."

"I don't have to go to school anymore!?"

Revan laughed loudly. "Nice try but no. You remember how I told you that your mother was lost? Well that is and isn't true. Physically, she's right here on this very planet. In this very building, actually. However, she is not the same woman that she was before you were born...or when I fell in love with her. Understand something Jayden, I love you and your mother very much. I know, however, that you're not going to be exactly thrilled with her true identity. Do you think that you can manage to keep an open mind?"

Jayden didn't look pleased, but he was certainly taking it better than Revan had anticipated. "Dad I'm not a baby. I could tell mom wasn't really missing. You weren't upset enough for that to be true. Why wouldn't you just tell me? It's not like she's a Sith or something weird like that, right?"

Revan's jaw tightened slightly before he permitted himself a brief, uneasy smile. "Your mother is the Steward of the Imperial Republic, Jayden."

Jayden's expression deadpanned. "The Empress?"

Revan nodded. "You'll be fine, Jayden. The Sith of this era are not at all like the ones I've told you about. The blind arrogance remains, however."

"Like you're one to talk, Dad."

Revan smiled as he began tickling Jayden furiously. "Oh yeah!?"

The little boy squirmed rapidly trying to break from his father's grip, but he was eventually forced to give Revan a gentle push with the force. It was only enough to move Revan's arms, but it was all that Jayden needed. "Just kidding Dad. Selina says you've gotten a lot better."

Revan could not help but shake his head. "You really are your mother's son...you know that?" Jayden's expression seemed to be a mixture of amusement, shock, and very mild disappointment. Then again, that was only because he'd been exposed to so much negative sentiment. None of it from Revan, ironically enough.

*Just come inside already, Layha, or should I tell your son that you just don't want to have anything to do with him?*

Layha was already on the landing pad when she heard Revan’s last comment, *Just come inside already, Layha, or should I tell your son that you just don't want to have anything to do with him?* she rolled her eyes and shut down the swoop. *You annoy me sometimes Revan.* she moved to enter the doors and was stopped by Revan’s guards. If Layha hadn’t been who she was, the Guards would have struck some sort of fear in her. Revan always liked picking the meanest looking people to guard. She was met by Selina. Layha didn’t give her a smile nor spoke a word to her. Instead she gave the young woman a slight nod.

“Right this way.” Selina turned and headed into the house. Layha smiled slightly at the woman’s back and followed her in. It didn’t take a A-wing engineer to know Selina did not like her. She followed Selina in to a hall and stopped. “I can find my own way thank you.” Layha didn’t give Selina time to respond. She moved past Selina and into the main room of the apartment. She moved down a roll to her left and stopped at a doorway. Inside was Revan and…Jayden. She wasn’t sure what to say and after five years of not seeing her son… she just didn’t know what to do. “Hi.” She said softly and leaned up against the door frame, not sure if she should enter the room or not.

Revan was already looking at the doorway before Layha appeared. Glancing back down to Jayden, Revan smiled warmly before kissing the young boy softly on the forehead. He took a glance back up at Layha and nodded slightly. "I'll leave you two alone." Sliding off the bed, Revan crossed the room casually towards the doorway. On his way out he stopped to whisper into Layha's ear. "Yeah, I know, but there is little reason to pretend like it does not engage your interest. Thanks for coming." Taking another step further, he spoke loud enough for Jayden to hear him. "I'll be out in the living room." With that, Revan had disappeared down the hallway and around the corner.

Meanwhile, Jayden stared intently at Layha. He wasn't really scared or timid. The young boy was a bit nervous though. His mother had been alive and well all along. Yet she never tried to contact him, visit him, or even so much as make her general presence known. Sure, Jayden realized it would have been hard for her to do nearly all of those things with as often as his father kept him moving about the galaxy. Maybe she was just too busy? Maybe she just didn't really care about him. Thoughts churned inside his overactive brain, shielding his thoughts still one of many abilities he had not fully learned. Fortunately, he found that he knew enough...enough to be conscious of the living force and to have some level of control over the force.

Layha turned and gave Revan a slight nod as he passed her. "Yeah, I know, but there is little reason to pretend like it does not engage your interest. Thanks for coming."
She said nothing and waited till he left the room. After a moment she turned back to face the little boy on the bed. He was bigger than the reports had mentioned. He had a lot of his Fathers facial features, she sighed and entered the room. “Hello Jayden. I assume your Father told you who I am.” She waited for a moment. The boy simply nodded. She bit her lip and pointed to the bed. “Can I sit down?” Jayden nodded and moved over for her to sit. “Jayden look I know your probably wondering why I never contacted you, saw you, or was around for you the last five years. To be honest I don’t have a straight answer for you. I could say I was trying to protect you from things you wouldn’t understand and may never understand, but that wouldn’t be completely true. I am sorry Jayden I wasn’t there and I want to make it up to you, but you have to tell me how I can do that.”

Layha was partially correct. While Jayden certainly wondered all of that to a certain extent, the simple truth of the matter was that he didn't much care. After all, it's not as if he was without someone that he had come to view as a mother and close friend. The only difference was that she couldn't be around all the time, and he known from a rather early age that Selina was simply someone that worked for his father. Around the time he turned four, he fully understood the grasp of Selina being his father's apprentice. It explained the seemingly endless devotion she had for him and the rest of the family. "How would I know? You're the adult. I don't even really know anything about you...I mean... I know you're an Empress or something. Daddy says you're a Sith too. He's told me stories...mostly about his life...but some about others too. People he says we used to be related to...why would you want to be that way? Is it really as seductive as daddy says? Did you leave us just to do evil stuff?" Jayden didn't really want Layha to make it up to him for having been absent. Well...he did, but he was more concerned about understanding why anybody could choose that lifestyle. Even Revan didn't really understand Jayden's supreme dislike of the dark side. Needless to say...Revan had long since decided to train Jayden as a Jedi. It was what the galaxy needed, anyways.

Layha smiled a sad smile. "No Jayden I didn't leave you to do evil stuff and I am by far an evil person. Your Dad and I just see things in a different way and that causes a problem between the two of us. Jayden the real reason why I left you with your father was because I was scared. A few years ago something bad happened to me and ever since I have been scared. I was scared something would happen to you if you stayed with me and I thought that being with your Dad you would be well protected. And I still believe that being with your Father is a lot safer than being with me." She didn't know how else to put it. She wasn't really cut out to be a mother and she had realized this fact a little to late. Kyle had done most the raising and now Revan would too. Raising kids was just something Layha wasn't good at.

Not really knowing anything about Layha's past, Jayden mostly just shrugged. "Daddy says that fear is a powerful emotion. He says it can control me if I don't control it. Maybe you should let go of the past and simply enjoy what you do have?" The words coming from Jayden's mouth were certainly his own. Still, it was clear that Revan had rubbed off on him. Nobody knew better than Revan what it was like to face your past and decide that you were going to remain in control of your own destiny and emotions. Out of mostly instinct at a general desire to make Layha feel better, Jayden cautiously approached her before giving her a warm, loving hug. The little boy didn't really know anything about Layha aside from what people said or wrote. What he did know was that...regardless of what happened in the past she was still his mother. The little boy's capacity to forgive was enormous, and it spoke volumes to what kind of person he would eventually become.

Even as Jayden continued to hug Layha, he whispered softly into her ear. "I've seen daddy cry a few times. I've seen him angry too. He doesn't know that I see him. Don't tell him but...when we were off traveling, he was looking for someone. Selina told me we were looking for others like us." Jayden released his grasp of Layha and inched back slightly. "I found papers in his office. Your name was on them...with two others. They started with "T" I think. Tatums and Tatiana? Who are they?" Jayden's curiosity was insatiable.

-------------------

Meanwhile, Revan was on his communicator speaking with the Prime Minister on Naboo. "Look...I don't know when I'll be back. You just do your job and ensure the deliberations continue without issue. Yes...I'm very well aware of that fact. That is why you are going to ensure the vote is unanimous. No don't argue...unanimous." Just as Revan had disconnected with the Prime Minister, he felt an odd sensation through the force. Well, it wasn't really odd, but he didn't expect it. Jayden... It was true that Revan didn't know a lot of the things Jayden did or managed to discover. However, Revan had been around his son long enough to be able to detect when the boy was keeping something from him or trying to get others to help him do the same. Combined with the overwhelming sensation of goodness, Revan could only wonder.

Glancing briefly to Selina, Revan spoke softly. "Go get some fresh air, Selina." Selina didn't bother to protest this time around and simply left the penthouse. Coming to his feet, Revan began walking down the long hallway to Jayden's room.

Layha was surprised when Jayden hugged her. After a moment she smiled and hugged him back. "Your a smart kid Jayden. You Dad is right, fear is very powerful and to learn to control it... well its not easy. It takes a very powerful person in body and soul to over come it. I guess it just one of those things I am trying to learn how to do." She was talking more to herself then to Jayden, so when Jayden spoke again it completely thru her off. "I've seen daddy cry a few times. I've seen him angry too. He doesn't know that I see him. Don't tell him but...when we were off traveling, he was looking for someone. Selina told me we were looking for others like us."... "I found papers in his office. Your name was on them...with two others. They started with "T" I think. Tatum and Tatiana? Who are they?" Layha pulled away from Jayden and starred at him for a moment not saying anything. She didn't know what to think... Revan still had been searching for the girls??? She shook the thought from her head and focused back on Jayden. "Tatum and Tatiana... they...they." her words faltered. "They are your sisters. A few years ago, some one took them from me." Layha shook her head. "I haven't gotten them back." she gave him a grim smile.

Jayden didn't expect that. Were they his father's children? Had his father abandoned kids just like Layha had done to him? "Sisters? Daddy didn't say anything about me having sisters." Then again, Revan hadn't really told Jayden about Layha either. The little boy was so confused at this point that he didn't really know who to trust. Yawning lightly, Jayden continued to fight the exhaustion that was quickly spreading through his body. It had been a rather long day after all.

Meanwhile, Revan had very quietly arrived at Jayden's doorway. Leaning up against the frame slightly, he simply watched Layha and his son. For the briefest of moments, Revan was content with his life. It was weird really...no matter how much he had attempted to distance himself from Layha in the past, he always ended up faltering. His love for her was almost...tragic. It even seemed it was ill-fated at times but here they were...

Layha gave Jayden a wider smile. "There is alot you don't know about. But," she reached around him and pulled back the covers on the bed. "I may not be the best of mom's, but I can tell when some one is getting sleepy." She watched as he climbed over the pulled back covers and slipped into them. Layha stood and tucked him in and kissed his forehead. "We'll talk more later ok. Sleep now." She turned and noticed Revan in the doorway and gave him a nod. Layha entered the hallway just outside Jayden's room and turned to face Revan. "You were looking for the girls all these years?"

Revan forced a slight smile as he nodded his head. "I promised you that I'd never stop looking for them. Simply because we chose to...part ways. I didn't want to fail them...or you." Revan's expression immediately transitioned to one of regret. Regret for so many things. Yes, he regretted not being able to save the girls...or at least find out any information as to their whereabouts. Former Director of Intelligence, Executor of the Imperial Republic and Revan couldn't even manage to squeeze his vast array of contacts enough to find two girls. Rather distinctive girls at that... Still, that wasn't even his greatest regret. No, his greatest regret was allowing Layha to talk him into giving up on her...on them. Revan couldn't even be swayed by powerful Sith and family members, but Layha had the ability to manipulate him at practically every turn. In that solitary moment, Revan decided he was no longer going to let Layha talk him out of doing what he knew to be the right thing in his heart of hearts. "Haven't managed to find them obviously...or even really gotten any closer. It's why I returned to Naboo. Four years of frustration was too much, Layha."

Layha leaned up against the wall and shook her head. "You know when your all powerful, sometimes it feels like you have no power at all. Mentally I have given up, but my heart will never stop searching." she bit her lip. "Thank you," she paused. "Thank you for trying to help." she gestured towards Jayden's now closed door. "Thank you for taking him and raising him. You did a great job." She knew she had to be one of the worst people in the Galaxy. More to the point the worst Mother. No one would ever know how much she beaten herself up for having kids. She had always frowned upon people who neglected there own off spring, yet here she was, powerful, wealthy and in good health, and yet she did that very thing she frowned upon. She mustered a smile to hide the guilt.

Revan smirked slightly, "Yeah...that's because there is no such thing as being all-powerful, Layha". Shrugging slightly, Revan managed to force out a tentative smile. "No need to thank me Layha. I made a promise, and I'm not presently in the business of breaking my promises. Regardless of the circumstances, even." Silence descended upon both of them rather quickly. Nodding his head slightly, Revan turned from Layha and walked back out to the living room area. Turning to the right, he made his way out onto the balcony of the penthouse, overlooking the Coruscant skyline. Where am I going with this life...what brings any meaning to it. The answer to that was far more simple than Revan had ever admitted to another person...lately at least. He lived for the boy sleeping inside and the woman that had brought him into this world. Still, it seemed fate was not without a sense of humor - giving him one only through the absence of the other. Enough is enough. Revan had always preached allowing the force to guide you. It all seemed like crap in this instance. He'd given enough to this government...this galaxy. It was time he finally had what he wanted in the grand scheme of things. Besides, it wasn't as if his exhaustive service would ever end.

Layha waited a moment before following Revan out onto the balcony. She hovered in the doorway not quiet sure if she should step out onto the balcony. "Why are you here Revan? Why did you come back? You are no longer tied to a seat in the government. You could be anywhere in the Galaxy. So why here?" She wasn't going to pretend she understood his actions anymore.

Revan chanced a hesitant glance back at Layha before shaking his head slightly. "I'm not worried about my 'place' in the government, Layha. Your dear friend Jim and I spoke during my absence." Revan figured Layha would either not believe him or simply not care. "Trust me, I was just as confused about what was going on. Anyways, that's rather irrelevant to the reason for my return. Needless to say I didn't come back those two years ago when he felt it prudent to invade my life." Revan's eyes flashed briefly with a small amount of intrigue. Then again, perhaps it was just the glow his green eyes gave off in the dark. "Explains the completion of my training, at least."

Turning to face Layha fully, Revan leaned against the railing. "If you don't know the reason I'm here, then there is little point in me telling you. You are correct, I could be anywhere. I could have done anything. Yet I spent my time looking for children that aren't mine, and I've returned to a planet that I hold no official ties to. I wonder what could possibly have motivated me to do such things. I'm not exactly an enigmatic figure, Layha." For someone that claimed to be all powerful, she certainly enjoyed pretending like the vast majority of what Revan did in relation to her or the Imperial Republic was not all too obvious. Walking towards Layha, Revan briefly adjusted his cloak. "Thank you, Layha. For coming to see your son, I mean. I'm sure it meant a lot to him." After giving Layha a slightly uneasy smile, Revan stepped past her and entered the penthouse once more. So many things to contemplate it would seem. He couldn't help but feel as if he was caught directly in the middle of everything happening...without literally being part of it. Revan remembered what happened last time...when it was placed on him to carry the emotional burden of their...whatever it was. That wouldn't be happening again. Revan had come to terms with his own feelings, but there was little reason in moving forward if she'd not done the same. Then again perhaps she has Revan...and they simply aren't what you desire them to be. Either way, it was clear that nothing more needed to be said this night unless Layha felt like doing it. She'd cast him aside, not the other way around. "Anyways, I'm sure you have more important things to do. I'd hate to keep you from them. Feel free to visit at your leisure."

Layha sighed as Revan brushed past her. "Anyways, I'm sure you have more important things to do. I'd hate to keep you from them. Feel free to visit at your leisure." She tightened her jaw for a moment. To many emotions pounded through her veins. She had to clear her head, had to get 'fresh' air. "Revan, I would like Jayden to meet his step siblings. If you wouldn't mind bringing him to the palace in the morning." she turned to face him. "I'll leave the decision up to you." She turned back around and headed for the balcony railing. "You know where to find me." With that she hoisted her body up onto the railing and jumped. She was running away again. She had gotten good at running. When emotions began to collide inside of her, she ran. Being around Revan brought back to many feelings that Layha both loved and hated. To many emotions at once blinded her and she didn't trust herself enough to stay with him for another minute.

Using the force to help guide her actions Layha landed several miles down. The Coruscant night life had just began and the night bars were in full swing. Ignoring the enticing advertising Layha walked several hundred feet before coming to a dark alley. She reached out with the force and sensed no one was watching. She stepped into the alley and walked until she came to a solid wall. With her mind she activated a code and to her left a door slid open. She stepped in and began to descend the stairs, 2028 stairs to be exact. At the bottom she activated yet another code with her mind. Again the door slid open and she passed through entering into a garden, the Temple of Hope. She had ordered the construction of the Temple not long after Jim had left. She had named it Hope, because she truly believed this place gave people like her peace and hope. She went in search for her favorite spot. It was a crystal fountain, designed to replicate the one in the Hapan Palace. She sat down and frowned.

*Go away* the presence lingered. *Please leave me alone* when the presence did not disappear Layha snapped her head up and her eyes had gone pure orange. "What do I have to do to make you leave me alone!?"

A deep mocking laugh came from her left. She turned to see Kennedy emerge from the shadows. "When I built this place, I should have built it to keep men like you out."

Kennedy raised a brow. "And in doing so you would have kept yourself out. You need to stop denying it Layha. You and I are a lot alike."

Layha narrowed her eyes. "If I had another option I would have taken it."

"Would you have?" Kennedy shook his head. "Something tells me you still would have taken the path of the dark side."

"I disagree."

"Disagree? Layha my dear, you love the power! I can see it in your eyes every time you use it."

"Power that I don't have any control over! When I was a shadow I had control. I could stop myself." Layha shook her head. "Now I.... I don't know how."

"You will learn."

Layha turned on him. "When? When some one gets hurt? When I completely destroy everything I hold dear to me? Kennedy I've lost Tatianna and Tatum, I've lost Kyle, I can barely hold on to my own children, my brother looks at me with disgrace, my parents refuse to speak to me, my aunt is a back stabbing lunatic, Rhowen thinks I've lost it, Revan thinks I am a mad woman, and you sit here and pat me on the back telling me I'll learn? Screw it! I am tired of all the test and trails and learning. Its a complete waste of time and effort. I want my life back. I want it to be normal again. I don't want this job, I don't want these responsibilities anymore!" She moved closer to Kennedy and grabbed his cloak. "Bring Jim back. You have to bring Jim home now. I can't do it anymore Kennedy." tears at this point where running down her cheeks. "Please I beg you, bring him home. Tell him I need him. Please, please Sean, bring Jim home."

Kennedy pulled Layha into a hug. "It wont be much longer child. I can promise you Jim will be back to take his Throne and you will be free to do as you please." Layha continued to sob into his cloak. "The path you have chosen is not an easy one Layha and you will have the trials and tribulations of life always on your shoulders. But it is those things that make you a strong person." he pulled Layha closer and whispered in her ear. "Let go child. Just let it all go." He reached up and placed his hand on the crown of her head. "Sleep now Layha." Layha's body immediately began to fight against what Kennedy was trying to do, but he won in the end and Layha's body gave up. She feel into a deep sleep. Kennedy gentle lowered her to the soft green grass beside the fountain, he hovered over her for a moment then disappeared into the shadows of the night.

Revan didn't say anything in response to Layha. What could he say? While he could...maybe...understand why Layha would want Jayden to meet his siblings, he wasn't sure how inclined he was to be accommodating to that particular request. It wasn't that Revan was worried about him meeting his siblings due to their personality. No, Revan's concerned centered more around the simple fact that he knew Jayden would soon become self-involved in the scene that was the Imperial Republic. At the present time, Revan couldn't be sure how good of an idea that truly was. Especially given his sometimes narrow views of the force and good vs. evil. Revan had already taken a chance introducing him to Layha. If she hadn't been his mother...well it probably would have turned out far different.

At the conclusion of Revan's thoughts, Layha had disappeared. No questions answered, no insight given - just more requests. Then again, he'd not really treated her any differently as of late. Revan's thoughts were broken by the sound of Selina approaching. "Well you don't look pissed, so I take it things went well?"

Revan shrugged slightly before turning to offer Selina a slight smile. "She's still the woman I fell in love with. She merely attempts to hide it deep under a surface layered with numerous personality masks. We'll always be different. Where she runs, I stand firm. Where I hesitate at times, she'll press on regardless of the exigent circumstances."

Selina scoffed slightly. "I'll never understand you Revan. She tells you to leave, casts you aside to care for your son... Yet you spend the next five years looking for her children, and even after a run in with the person that first trained you as a Shadow, you still press on. You know full well things will be normalized before long. So why do this? Why put yourself out there again? You know she's just going to do the same thing, and in the end of the day you'll be little more than an emotional wreck."

Revan glared coldly at Selina for a few moments before eventually allowing a smirk to cross his face. "Yet through all of that, two things never change. My dedication towards doing the right thing, and my love for Layha. You should get some rest, we're going to the palace in the morning... All three of us." Stepping forward, Revan gently grasped Selina's shoulders. "I know you have doubts, but I need your support now more than ever. You're the only one that has always been there for me. You're a great friend, and you always will be."

Selina thought for a moment that Revan was going to utter the words she'd longed to hear for so many years now. Still...there it was. The same description. Friend... She forced an uneasy smile at Revan and turned to walk towards her room. Even as she did, she could hear Revan's voice inside her head. *I cannot give you what you seek, Selina. When you've found the right person, you'll know.* Selina chanced a brief glance back at Revan just a single tear rolled down her cheek.

Revan watched as Selina disappeared around the corner before stepping back outside onto the balcony. Grasping the railing with both hands, he looked up towards the night sky. As wind began filling his cloak, Revan closed his eyes. The cool evening breeze washed over his body, relieving his tension, stress, and anxiety. It seemed as if nothing in the galaxy could bring harm to him from this spot. When he opened his eyes, he looked down at the buildings several hundred meters below him. No longer standing on his balcony, he had levitated to a vantage point that granted his eyes greater access to the sprawling cityscape that was Coruscant. Revan smiled briefly to himself before returning to his home. Sleep sounded like a really good idea.

The view was breath taking. The water sparkled like diamonds as the suns new rays hit it as they came over the rolling mountains. Layha took in a deep breath and inhaled the fresh clean air. Hapes... it was the one place she was truly happy. She smiled and drew her shaw closer to her body as the winds begain to pick up. "Mum? Are you ok?" Layha turned to see her eldest. His blue within blue eyes bore concern within them. Layha gave him a smile. "You know, I don't know why but I feel so free." She laughed, "Yes son I am fine. In fact I am more than fine. I am wonderful!" she laughed again and put an arm around her son. "You know Andur, I may not have been there for you when I should have been. I make a promise to you now, You and your brothers and sisters will come first, before anything else." A smile crept across the young man's face. "Thats sound like a great idea Mum." A noise turned both Layha and Andur around. Kyle stepped out from the garden. "Good Morning Layha, Andur."
"Good Morning Father." Layha simple gave a slight nod. "Andur would you please give your Mother and I a moment?" Andur nodded turned kissed Layha's cheek and hurried inside. Kyle said nothing for a moment, instead he walked over to the brick wall that over looked the Falls. Layha did the same. "I know you didn't come here to just look at the Falls. What is it?" Kyle turned and grabbed Layha's hands. "Layha, I want you to understand a few things." She nodded as she glanced down at their entwined fingers. "You are my first love, that day when Mikhael brought me to the house and I saw you in the garden, you stole my heart then and there. You will always have my heart. We both know we tried to be together, but..." Layha shushed him with a hand to his lips. "Its ok Kyle." she smiled slightly. "You know I often thought of what I would say or do when this day came, but now that its here all I can say is I am very happy for you. Besides it would be very selfish of myself to deny you happiness." she watched as Kyle smiled. "So who is she?"

"Ummm, actually she is a doctor, we meet on Naboo. You would like her."

"I hope some day I get to meet her. My only concern, do the children approve?"

Kyle nodded. "They know I have been seeing her. They like her." Layha nodded reached up and kissed Kyle on the cheek. "Congratulations dear." The pleased look on Kyle's face made Layha laugh. Kyle looked at her astounded. "What?" he shook his head. "Its just been a very long time since I've heard you laugh." Layha shrugged. "I am trying to change a few things. Like laugh more." she smiled and took his hand. "Come, you must have breakfast with us. You remember how Grendel makes a wonderful breakfast."

"You kidding me? That women was out to make me a fat man."

Layha laughed again and lead Kyle inside. The children where there sitting at the table. Layha and Kyle joined.....

Layha awoke to the sound of a voice. It took her a moment to focus and register where she was at. Trickling water, soft green grass, and two worried faces hovering over her. "Mum are you ok?" Layha struggled to sit up. She realized she was in the Temple of Hope beside the Crystal Fountain. She looked over at her children. "Phoenix, Kiegan... what...what..."

"You didn't come home last night. We figured you had other stuff to do, but then you didn't even send Winter to come watch us. We got scared and came looking. Kiegan found you. You didn't move and barely breathed."

"We thought you had... died" Kiegan face was twisted into worried lines. Layha grabbed him and pulled him close to her body. "I am sorry kids, I just..." she frowned. "I don't remember anything from last night. I don't know... I ... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you all."

"Mum, you were crying. Why were you crying?" Layha glanced at Phoenix for a moment then realized her eyes were swollen and most likely red. "I can't remember." She kissed the top of Kiegan's head. Phoenix scooted closer and Layha pulled her close to. "I am sorry I wasn't always there for you guys."

"Its ok Mum." Layha shook her head. "But its not." Again the tears came. "I am such a mess." Phoenix and Andur hugged her tighter and they stayed like that.

Revan awoke to sounds coming from the kitchen area. Forcing himself out of bed, he stumbled into the refresher and turned on the shower. As the warm water washed over his body, he allowed any of the tension left from the previous night to be purged from his being. Some ten minutes later, Revan stepped out of the shower and finished getting dressed. Twenty minutes after he had woken up, Revan stepped into the living room area. The silver trim of his black cloak glistened slightly in the sunlight as he turned the corner into the kitchen. No sooner had he laid eyes on Jayden than the child had lept from his seat, grabbed his things, and began bolting for the door. "Whoa...what are you in such a hurry for?"

"Selina said we get to go to the Palace today!"

Revan turned his piercing green gaze towards Selina and gave her a slightly annoyed expression. "She did...did she?" Turning his attention back to Jayden, Revan smiled slightly and nodded his head. "Yes we are, and it would seem you're ready. Just keep this in mind, Jayden. We're visitors and there are a lot of security procedures involved with going anywhere near the palace. Don't touch anything and don't go running off, alright?"

Jayden rolled his eyes slightly. "Yes, father."

"I'm serious Jayden..."

"Ok dad I get it...can we go now?"

Revan chuckled lightly as he nodded his head. "Yeah, go wait by the speeder." Jayden didn't need to be told twice and was quickly out the door. Turning his attention back to Selina once more, Revan gave her a serious look. "You had better behave too, Selina."

Selina smirked slightly. "What are you going to do if I don't? Spank me?"

This time it was Revan who rolled his eyes. Turning from Selina without a response, he made his way towards the door and stepped out into the corridor. Two guards immediately walked by his side, saying nothing. Revan shook his head slightly. "Thanks guys, but I'll be alright without you for one day I think. Stay here and ensure nothing happens." A few moments later, Selina had exited the penthouse and was walking beside Revan.

By the time they had made it to the parking garage, Jayden was already waiting for them and sitting in the driver seat. Revan motioned for him to get in the passenger seat. "This isn't the country on Naboo, Jayden. It's a city with the galaxy's worst drivers ever."

"So?"

Revan motioned slightly with his hand, sending Jayden careening into the passenger seat. "So you're not driving." Taking a seat behind the controls, Revan quickly activated the speeder's systems before shooting out into the bustling traffic of the Coruscant sky lanes. His penthouse wasn't too far from the palace protection zone, so they arrived at the checkpoint rather quickly. The guard doing the check practically did a double take on Revan's ID, but he eventually waved him through. From the checkpoint it took only a matter of minutes to arrive at the palace. Having been directed to the visitor's area, Revan parked the speeder before jumping out of the seat. Landing softly on the ground, he walked up the majestic steps of the palace with Jayden's right hand held firmly in his left.

As opposed to using the normal entrance which would have required exhaustive security checks that would have freaked people out at the discovery of their lightsabers, Revan lead the two towards one of the discreet entrance that actually serviced the Temple. Still, once they had stepped inside the entrance, they were immediately encircled by Noghri. Jayden was startled slightly, having never actually seen one in person, but Selina and Revan merely presented their credentials. One of the Noghri gave Revan somewhat of an annoyed look, to which Revan forced back his own annoyance. "Just get out of our way. Lest you forget what happened to one of your brethren the last time they decided to be idiotic." The Noghri was noticeably angered by the comment, but he did know all too well...and simply stepped aside.

Once they had entered the lift which would take them directly to the level of the palace more or less dedicated to Layha's use, Jayden turned to Revan. "What was that all about?"

Revan shook his head slightly. "It was about something you don't need to concern yourself with anytime soon, son. If you see any more, just ignore them. Believe it or not they exist for our protection."

"So why did you threaten that one?"

"They need to be reminded of their role from time to time. Just like people do, son."

"You shouldn't resort so quickly to violence dad. It's just a path to the da--"

"Yes Jayden, I know. I wasn't born yesterday." Revan smirked slightly at his son just as the doors to the lift opened. Taking a left, the progressed down a corridor practically lined with royal guards until they reached Layha's office. Inside, Revan smiled warmly to Coleana. "Hey Coleana, can you do me a favor and tell Layha I'm here as arranged?" Before Coleana could respond, Revan turned to Jayden and Selina. "You guys can go take a seat right over there for the time being." Returning his gaze to Coleana, Revan merely waited.

Coleana gave Revan a worried look. "We haven't heard form her Majesty since last night. No one has been able to find her. Her communicators are switched off and..." she stopped in mid sentence as Layha emerged from the outer hall. Coleana stood and bustled to Layha's side. "What happened? I had ever damn guard looking for you? You had us worried when you didn't report in last night." Layha hushed Coleana with a look. She wasn't in the mood to talk about last night and especially not in front of Revan. "Mum here, I brought your cloak I thought you might....." Phoenix caught eyesight of Revan and smiled. "Mr. Centurion!" Layha watched as the young girls eyes sparkled at the sight of Revan. "How are you sir?" Layha took the cloak from Phoenix and swung it onto her shoulders. *Did I miss something between you and my daughter?* Layha directed at Revan. Phoenix caught the unspoken words and threw her mother a look and stepped back. "I just haven't seen him in five years Mum. I was just wondering." Layha smiled and turned back to Revan. "Jayden's here." It was a statement. Of course Layha knew that Jayden was there. She felt the child through the force, and more obvious was that he was sitting in the waiting room not more than twenty steps away from Layha. "Phoenix go get your brother and meet me in the office." Phoenix nodded, threw one more glance in Revan's direction and left. Layha turned back to Coleana. "Let Rhowen know I am ok and call of the search." Coleana nodded, gave Revan a warm smile and moved past the couple and back to her position. At last Layha and Revan were 'alone'. "I know it was against your better judgment to bring him, but I can't begin to express how greatful I am that you went ahead and did bring him."

Revan raised an eyebrow slightly, but his expression quickly returned to normal. Tilting his head slightly, Revan gave Layha a curious look when Coleana mentioned her not returning the previous night. Still, things continued to happen rapidly as Phoenix entered the room and flashed Revan an excited smile. Revan hadn't registered even so much as a facial expression before he could hear Layha's voice inside his head. The sensation was quickly followed by Phoenix's words upon the air.

"Jayden's here."

"Perceptive." Before Phoenix turned to leave, Revan gave her a small smile, feeling somewhat bad about not acknowledging her earlier. His eyes quickly settled upon Layha once the rapid commotion within the room had died down.

"I know it was against your better judgment to bring him, but I can't begin to express how grateful I am that you went ahead and did bring him."

Revan shrugged his shoulders with a slight smirk. "It was, but Selina went ahead and made any possibility of not bringing him...impossible. Can't really tell him he's not going when he's already been excited by the assurance of someone close to him." Sighing slightly, Revan clasped his hands behind his back. He wanted to ask her how she'd been doing, or why she hadn't made it back to the palace last night, but he got the sensation that it was a partially irrelevant circumstance. "Palace seems a lot emptier these days." Revan nodded somewhat approvingly. There always had been far too many non-essential personnel traversing the corridors. It wasn't what he wanted to say, and he knew that now as as good a time as any. "That's not what I meant to say. You asked me why I came back. Truth is I never really left. Sure...I did physically leave, at your request, but I didn't ever stop caring about the Imperial Republic. I certainly didn't ever stop loving you. So I suppose if there was one reason I'm back here, it's simply to tell you one thing." Revan exhaled slightly before continuing. "I don't care how many times you try to send me away or pretend like you're not hurting and conflicted inside. I'm not giving up on you. I'm not talking about your alignment in the force - that matters not to me. I love you for who you are...regardless of what that may be. You can only really be certain of one thing. If my love for you didn't trump all things, I would never have returned. Certainly wouldn't have risked my life...or that of our son." For the time being, Revan left out the part about strongly considering killing Layha's aunt. She bloody well needed to die far as he was really concerned. Particularly if it was the only real solution to that particular 'problem'. Standing still, Revan simply waited. She could say nothing for all it really mattered. He had done what he'd come to do. If she cast him aside, then he'd simply have to make good on his promise.

Layha was in a sense very surprised. It took her a few times but he managed to say, "I don't know what to say." And that was the truth. She knew Revan had loved her, but after she pushed him away she had hoped he would have found someone who was much more suitable for himself. Layha was by far not the woman any sane man would consider being with. She stood for a moment in silence trying to piece the puzzle together, and to keep her emotions under control. She rubbed her temples as they began to throb. Layha laughed slightly, "Your crazy you know that. I mean there are millions of women in this Galaxy. In fact there is one sitting out in the waiting room who would make a good humble wife for you. And yet after everything I've done to you, you still are in love with me." she shook her head. "I guess I have never fully understood your reasoning or actions and I don't think I'll try to start understanding them now." Another small smile played at the corners of her lips. "I have a feeling if I try to push you away you'll just come back again." the smile disappeared. "Look Revan, I never really wanted to push you away. I just... figured we were to different and you deserved some one better than me. I am sorry I jumped to conclusions. I am just pretty good at making conclusions whether they are right or wrong." she pulled her cloak tighter around her body not sure what to do next.

Revan laughed slightly. It was ironic really, only took her five years. Then again, he was just as bad if not worse. Waving a dismissive hand, Revan flashed Layha a charming smile. "We're more alike than I think either of us is willing to admit. Anyways... I can't very well tear Jayden away from Coruscant now that he's met you and is about to meet his step-siblings. At the same time, the commute from Naboo to here is not exactly a 'simple' one to make for the purpose of frequent visits." Revan took a few steps towards his right, absentmindedly increasing the distance between himself and Layha. It wasn't really meant to signify anything, but he didn't mind taking things slow. The first time around had been erratic and mostly fueled by passion rather than rational thought. With a child in the mix, he really couldn't afford that again. "So we'll probably remain here for the most part. Selina is being sent back to Naboo. Regardless of your beliefs about what kind of wife she would make. She should be able to supervise things there until the change to our constitution is complete at which time she'll be appointed Regent." Revan did not say the words, but that obviously meant he'd been selected to assume the throne of Naboo. A position previously of mitigated power...it would remain such for only a brief amount of time. "Jayden and I will stay here on Coruscant, for the most part. The only true question that remains is...where do I go from here?" Revan had no qualms doing what needed to be done. He preferred to remain out of the public eye as much as was...really possible for a Head of State. Naturally to justify his absence, he would need some level of actual role within the Imperial Republic. Preferably something low-key with very little spectrum of authority, advising only as necessary. There were plenty of people that could look after Jayden when Revan was not around after all.

Layha nodded, understanding the under tone in Revan's words. "Well, we will need to sit down and talk about that, but after Jayden meets the children." She didn't wait for Revan to reply before she stepped past him and into the waiting room. "Good Morning Jayden." the young boy looked up from his hands and smiled. Layha stepped forward and knelt in front of his seat. "There are a few people I would like you to meet. Will you come with me to my office. They are in there waiting." Jayden nodded and Layha stood taking Jayden's hand. She gave Selina a slight nod before leading Jayden out of the room and into the hall that connected to her office. She waved a hand and the door swished open, Phoenix was at her desk and Kiegan was on the couch. They both looked up when she entered with Jayden. Phoenix froze as her eyes fell on Jayden. Kiegan stood and gave the boy a weary eye. Layha pulled Jayden to a position in front of her. "Phoenix, Kiegan..." her words were cut off my a clattering in the next room. Phoenix jumped and looked to her left then shook her head. Andur came out of the room next door. "Mum! Your ok! Well of course your ok you just didn't show up and then we all...." his words trailed off as he caught sight of Jayden. "Oh we have a visitor."

"Not just any visitor." Phoenix said as she approached Jayden and Layha. "He is our little Brother," she looked at her Mother. "Is that correct Mum?" Layha nodded. "Yes, Children I would like you to meet Jayden. Jayden these are you step brothers and sister." Phoenix came near. "Hello little Jayden, I am Phoenix." she gave him a warm smile. "Welcome to our family." Kiegan came form the left and took Jayden's hand. "Hi I am Kiegan. We can be best friends if you want." Andur came closer as well. "My name is Andur." Andur's eyes brightened. "Hey Mum, I was going to take Phoenix and Kiegan to this new theme park. Can we take Jayden?" Layha hesitated. "Andur I am not so sure..." Phoenix cut her off. "Mr. Centurion, Jayden will be perfectly safe with us. Trust me, Mum has about 100 Noghri on our tails and at least two personal guards per person. So can he come?"

Layha turned to face Revan. She wasn't going to make this decision. After all it had been five years and clearly not her place to say yes or no. At least not any time soon. She shrugged. "That would give us time to.... talk."

Revan shrugged in response to Layha's statement. He didn't have a problem waiting, and he'd have to stick around until Jayden had met his siblings anyways. Following Layha and Jayden into the office, Revan stood quietly and watched the reactions of the other children. The biggest shock out of all of them was probably Kiegan - the boy having been nothing more than an infant last he'd seen him. Revan smiled slightly to himself. The boy reminded him slightly of the girls, and he was happy that Layha had at least not lost all of them.

Jayden smiled slightly and shook Kiegan's hand - not that he had a choice. "Hi, Kiegan, Phoenix." Jayden let go of Kiegan's hand and looked up at Andur, nodding slightly. "Hi, Andur." When the other kids starting talking about going to a theme park, Jayden glanced back at his father.

Revan's piercing green eyes gazed back at his son for a moment. He wasn't really worried about Jayden's safety. The boy had grown up around rather constant danger after all. He was more concerned about Jayden doing something to potentially expose himself and the others. The boy's curiosity was surpassed only by his decidedly advanced intellect. Smirking slightly at Phoenix, Revan suppressed the urge to laugh. "Noghri..." Catching sight of his son once more, Revan eventually consented with a nod of his head. "Very well, you may go Jayden."

Jayden smiled warmly just as he heard his father's voice in his head. *You had better be on your best behavior young man.* Jayden's smile dissipated slowly as he nodded his head.

Turning to Layha, Revan plainly stated. "How about that conversation then?"
