Disclaimer said:

The Operation Recovery Scenario, also known as Scenario 4, is a "Red" scenario, part of the Return from the Shadows series of scenarios. This scenario will be open to most of the player-base, though it may not involve everyone. It is quite possible that a second scenario will take place simultaneously involving those not on this mission "back home". As this is a red scenario, your character will only know things that are going on that your character would know about. While you, the player, can read everything going on, your character will only know what he/she sees and hears, and what he/she has access to know about. All personnel are invited to participate - but remember a few things. We have a chain of command. We have standard operating procedures. Do not do anything without your supervisor's orders or authorization. Everyone's part in this scenario will be different, but it should affect everyone somehow. Not just anyone can go inside the special areas of the Palace, as restrictions apply. Everyone will be expected to follow the Chain of Command. One step at a time. If you want something approved or need something, run it by your CO. If you fail to recieve a response, run it by his CO. (I.e. Army units report to their unit CO, unit co's report to the Army COO, Army COO reports to the Minister of Defense, who reports to the Supreme Ruler). You can bypass one chain if that person is unavailable. If your CO doesn't know the answer - he must find out the answer from HIS CO, that does not give you excuses to go above him without his permission. Note: If a superior officer gives you permission to contact him directly, feel free to do so under those circumstances. It is at the discretion of each officer whether they will accept direct inquiries or defer them to your direct superior.

Introduction
A secret research facility of the Imperial Republic, formerly managed and supervised by the late Lord Kennedy, is finally revealed to the members of the High Council and His Majesty's Personal Staff. Fearing that the station, like Lord Kennedy's special forces unit, has gone rougue, the High Prince has ordered an emergency task force be assembled to head for the secret facility and retake it. It is vital that the Imperial Republic be in control of the facility and maintain utmost secrecy. Most involved in this mission will know nothing of their destination, coordinates, or what is really happening, other than their specific assignments. (OOC: Your characters will most likely not know anything about any of this - other than what they are told by their CO IF they are assigned to this mission or task force.)

This scenario will begin on December 19th. The topic will automatically open on that day. It is my hope that this will be a shorter scenario, as others will be going on. We anticipate the possibility of the Balle Royale conflicting with this scenario however the Balle Royale will begin on December 31st 2008 and it will take place AFTER this scenario as far as the timeline is concerned.

OOC: Everyone that contacted me and that recieved a response is on the team. Anyone else that wishes to be part simply jump in.

Briefing: All participating in this scenario starting location will be at Kuat. No one but the mission leaders will know our destination, everyone will be sworn to secrecy and will not know where they are going until they get there - even then they most likely will not be told where they are except inside a facility (once inside). It is a highly classified mission. Enemy ship resistance should be light - enemy personnel resistance should be heavy. All ships will be recieving encrypted coordinates from the mission flagship, the Vanguard. Only four PCB's (Protector-class Battleships) will be going on this mission (smaller number ships is harder to track) and will rendezvous with the 2nd Assault Fleet. The other three ships in the first wave are the Intrepid, the Dauntless, and the Manticore, all taken off assignment from the Perimeter fleet, and were replaced by temporary ships. We are using ships not known to the public as well for more secrecy.

Mission Objectives:

-Destroy completely the enemy fleet
-Eliminate all enemy troops
-Retake the top secret research facility/space station
***************************************
****************************************
* denotes classified and really secret aspect of the mission reserved for specified individuals

Those are the objectives we know of. Others will become apparent once we are there and in the midst of the situation.

The Vanguard will be the flagship of the first wave.

The general looked out at the troops that had been selected to be part of this secret mission. They didn't have any clue what they were getting into. He himself only knew a small amount of the details. The Army personnel were all gathered aboard the assembly hall of the Intrepid for a briefing. Most of the leaders and some of the men from the team were there. He finally spoke.

"Okay, so we don't know exactly what we're getting into. This mission is highly classified. You will not be told where we are going. You won't be told where we are when we get there, but more updates will come right before we launch. Your mission will be simply. Eliminate the enemy, and secure the...facility. The fleet will cover for our run. I am told that enemy ship resistance will be light, but we don't know for sure. This is a top secret mission and you are all sworn to secrecy on it. Prepare for combat, and prepare to take over a large facility. That's about all I can say for now. Report to your ships, we will be taking off shortly. May the Force be with you. Dismissed!"

Commander Halcyon was on the bridge of the Intrepid getting ready for this secret mission. He looked at his monitors and saw that the Army detachment was getting a brief by General Cognatus. In other parts of the ship the crew was making sure everything was good to go for the mission. He now waited calmly for the coordinates from the Vanguard.

Kai'Len Ciunus walked swiftly from the briefing room. A small part of him was uncomfortable with not knowing what exactly he was getting into, but that was the Army for you. He sighed to himself and stepped into the turbolift. A large "Facility"? Well ok. Doesn't tell me much. Oh well. I'll have to make it work.

As the doors to the turbolift opened, Kai was hit with all of the sounds and smells of the Armored Division Bay. He sighed to himself again and took a step out onto the floor. The some-what large room was filled with men and women in mechanic's gear running around. To his right, the main cannon of an AT-TE swung slowly downwards as the technicians attempted to repair it. Kai frowned slightly and walked over to the man whom appeared to be the supervisor.

Ahem.... Excuse me, Cpl. Moot, but why is my AT-TE standing without a main cannon?

The younger man jumped at the proximity of the voice behind him. He spun around and gaped for a moment before snapping to attention. So sorry, Sir! I didn't see you standing there Sir!

Kai saluted in return and then gestured towards the disabled walker. I really don't care about formality at the moment Cpl. What I do care about though, is why my walkers are being taken apart? They were just inspected four hours ago and cleared for duty, so what is this?

Cpl. Moot swallowed visibly and glanced at the floor for a moment. Well sir, Jenks over there had never seen the fine tuning of the main cannon. And since he'll be working on the bigger assets, we figured he should take a look. We tried to get it back togeher before anyone would notice. I'm sorry, Sir. It was my fault, I authorized it.

Kai inwardly groaned. He fixed the young man with a piercing gaze and glanced over to the walker to emphasize his point. Cpl, you have one hour to get that thing back together. And when we are finished here, you and I are going to have long talk about it. But until then, you'll check and recheck every single piece of equipement in here. With that said, he snapped a quick salute and sprinted for the nearest AT-AA, climbing lithely up to stand on its' table-like top. He gazed around the Bay, noting every pilot, gunner, mechanic, and technician was doing something to make sure these war machines stayed in top form. He allowed a momentary smile of approval.

Clearing his throat he bellowed for them all to hear. Listen up! Prepare for Combat! I want every asset availabe ready for landing in three hours! So Let's get a move on it.

One chorus of voices shouted their eagerness. They were soldiers, sitting on a boat made all of them just as jittery as he was. Kai slid down from his place and marched over to Cpl. Moot, passing him and heading for the AT-TE itself. He began his inspection, butterflies fluttering in his stomach in anticipation of what was to come.

OOC: I am NPC'ing OVERMIND to get this little scenario started. This is his address to the task force officers.

The Grand Admiral looked over the conference room as he eyed the officers. He had attended the meeting given by General Cognatus, though he was hiding in the background out of sight. They did not know he had been aboard. He decided to hold the briefing on the Intrepid as to protect the fact that the High Prince and some of his personal staff were part of the mission. That was not something they were going to make known to the others.

"Your mission is not simple. It is not very clear. The only thing that is clear is that we must eliminate the enemy at all costs. No one besides our men must leave this system alive, unless we take them as prisoners ourselves. Our job will be to escort the army transports to the facility, defending them while keeping others from escaping away. We will have interdictor cruisers in all quadrants to prevent escape, but we must destroy anyone trying. There will be four away teams. Two will focus on taking out the enemy and gaining control of the facility. The other two each have their own specific mission to accomplish and the details of which will remain known only to them. Meanwhile our job in space will be to wipe out the enemy. We will be joined by the 2nd Assault Fleet to cover for us, as our primary job will be getting the away teams safely aboard the facility and eliminating those who try to escape from it. Any questions?"

Lieutenant Commander Talak Kasra stands in his assigned office on the Manticore, talking with all of the Squadron XO's assigned under him about certain battle plans they could use to escort the transports to the supposed Large facility they are to board and then to attack any enemy fighters and transports. He is talking to the CO from the Vanguard when a window pops up on the screen and a young mechanic appears. He salutes and Talak returns the salute and the mechanic begins to speak in a very rushed, stressed tone "Lieutenant, we have a problem, there is a slight shortage in pilots." Talak begins to wonder what the mechanic is talking about, as Talak made sure there were enough pilots "I am afraid I don't understand, I made sure every position was filled, you must have made a mistake counting." The mechanic shakes his head and points at a few empty fighters "Sir, those fighters are supposed to be occupied and every pilot on the deck has been placed in their ship and are running system checks." Talak hears the sound of a door slamming and hears a few agitated shouts and the mechanic looks over his left shoulder. He openly sighs with frustration and turns back to the screen "Nevermind sir, they're here." "Well make sure you note their names, I want to inquire about their tardiness later." The mechanic nods and the window blinks out. Talak looks back at the XO he was talking to "I apologize, it seems a few pilots were tardy to the docking bay." He resumes his conversation with the Lieutenant Junior Grade that was to watch 2 squadrons from the Intrepid.

Lieutenant Colonel Shan stood at her usual place. However, unlike the last time she had stood there, this time she was clad within battle armor. After the recent attempt on her life, Kaidlen made sure that she had armor handy, even if it was only a concealed protective vest. Not this time though. They were heading for a battle, so she was outfitted out in the same basic suits that the troopers wore. Her helmet rested nearby, waiting for her to don it. At the moment, the young Colonel had no need for it. She needed to be able to perform her duty without hinderance for now. When it was time, the helmet would be in place.

Revan leaned against one of the aft bulkheads of the large conference room as the Admiral conducted his briefing. Seeing as Jim had decided not to tell anyone what this mission was or its purpose, he wondered why they were having a briefing at all. Needless to say, Revan's specialty was covert, direct action operations. It was simply what he'd been bred to do, and he'd done it well enough in the past. Well...at least I tend to think so. On a mission like this, you told people as specifically as possible what they might be facing before entering the engagement zone. After all, it's not as if any secrets would be given away. Who cares if people know a random space station called Centerpoint exists? They still would not know its purpose and would thus know nothing. Besides, it was hardly the only covert establishment in the Imperial Republic. Naturally, IRSB would have to keep close tabs on anyone being exposed to the information. Heck...they'll have to do it anyway once this mission is over. I hope all of the wet behind the ears people assigned to this Task Force are prepared to sacrifice whatever small amount of privacy they may still have.

For Revan's part, his presence here was all about helping to maintain balance. It was all he ever did, really. The time for Lord Kennedy and his pet projects...was over. Too long had the dark side clouded the galaxy as of late. His particular group of...assistants would aid him in disabling the cloning facilities for the former Dark Lord. Once that was complete, Revan's attention would turn to other 'problem' areas of the galaxy. Unlike...apparently everyone else, Revan wore no special armor. A black tactical uniform covered by his typical green-lined black cloak. With the hood pulled over his head, his facial features were largely masked. With no official position within the Imperial Republic, it was best he be seen as little as possible. Two bright green eyes burned with intensity amongst the darkness of his attire. "So much work to be done in this galaxy..." Briefly, he glanced at Selina and nodded his head just prior to the Admiral's briefing being finished. Revan did not want to be kept in the exiting traffic. "Let's head back to the Dauntless. This mission is about to be a charlie foxtrot and a half." Swiftly, he exited the conference room.

Selina stood with her hands clasped behind her back, listening intently to the Admiral's briefing. While he said that it was not simple or clear, it seemed that it was to her. Bottom line: Eliminate the enemy. None but them would leave alive. That wasn't something that she had a problem with. It actually made her smirk slightly. They'd be escorting the army to an unnamed facility, both defending and preventing escape. Four teams, two focused on the facilities and two with classified assignments. All in all, it sounded simple to her. The logistics of it all were better left to others and were of little concern to her.

Her brown eyes moved from the Admiral to a familiar set of bright green eyes. Revan had already spoken, commenting that there was much work to be done in the galaxy. Returning his nod, she turned to follow him as he suggested they get back to the Dauntless, as things were going to get rather...interesting. Her own slender, hooded form slipped quietly out of the conference room after him.

Quickly she fell into step beside him as they moved through the corridors. “Have you been holding out on me Revan?” She was certain that he knew something. He always did somehow....

Aboard the Vanguard, Captain Koru Tav was checking his various weapons at his post, starting with his bow.

Captain. The rank was still foriegn to him. He had been in the Republic guard for only a few weeks and much had happened: the coup and his promotion and this mission. Although he was basically the Prince's bodyguard, he still knew little about the upcoming mission. The "big-wigs" had this thing tightly under wraps. He pushed away his theories about what was going to happen and turned his thoughts to other things as he finished his bow and arrow inspection. His thoughts instead turned to the days after the coup as he began to check his DL-44 and blaster rifle.

Though he had not turned traitor and fought alongside Stratus, there were those who naturally did not trust him. The reason being was that he was a member in the Royal Guard. He wondered how far the mistrust had spread. "It all starts with one rumor..." He could see it in the eyes and demeanor of those he passed in the hallways. In someways it did not affect him, in others, it was an annoyance. Koru grunted as he finished his weapon check and moved onto his armor. Once finished, he just stood at his post.

There weren't many people as the Vanguard was a smaller vessel. He had seen Lt. Colonel Shan around yet hadn't spoken to her with the exception of greetings. This was the first time that he had seen her up close and was suprised to see that her and his new friend Jaylen were very similar. Striped skin and felinish eyes were just some of the similarities. He had caught a glimpse of the Admiral OVERMIND as he boarded and as he left for the briefing. Stratus...Koru looked over to Stratus...was busy. Koru had no idea what was going on through his head after the attempted coup.

Koru leaned against the wall and looked out the porthole as he noticed a part of the Intrepid come into view I wonder how the briefing is going...

The High Prince waited in the observation deck alone, save Kaidlen and Koru. He did not show himself on the bridge, so very few of the crew knew he was aboard, if any. He had carefully disguised himself, and even now was in diguise, the Force as his ally. A light flashes on the side wall of the viewport, a secret signal sent from the bridge, likely from Admiral OVERMIND or possibly Captain Gourdine, indicating they were ready for the jump to hyperspace. He sent a reply with a similar signal, a green light that would display only on the Admiral's chair, if he was sitting in it, that would flash a few times, signaling the Admiral to proceed. He waited for the stars to appear, and watched in awe at the view of being in hyperspace. It was quite the sight. He knew he had left the government in trusted hands, with Executor Treyson overseeing things in his absence. He had always been blessed with great executors serving alongside him, always loyal, which to him was the most important trait of all, loyalty. There was nothing greater in his eye.

He looked over at Kaidlen, who was also looking quietly out the viewport, and then their was Koru, who was faithfully and quietly guarding the main door, and in view of the others. He noticed Kaidlen quietly taking a guard post next to the other door, and returned his gaze to the stars. Only the Force knew what truly awaited them. He may have the most idea of what awaited them for sure, but even he wasn't entirely certain what they would face.

Revan smirked slightly at Selina as they arrived back at the hangar bay. "Everyone has their secrets, Selina." In fact, Revan often wondered how much anybody truly knew about another person in this galaxy...

Quickly, Revan walked with Selina back towards his heavily-modified Delta-7. The vessel had served Revan well since his later days as a Special Agent of IRIS. It was a position and station that he missed...rather considerably. Well, perhaps that was not so much the case these days. Having finally managed to rid himself of the role of Executor, he was looking forward to setting his own agenda. An agenda that had been delayed for far too long.

As the Legatus arrived back on board the Dauntless, Revan could see two military officers readily approaching his vessel. Rolling his eyes slightly, Revan unfastened his restraints and left his seat. On his way out the cockpit, Revan extended the loading ramp and commented dryly to Selina, "This should be good..." To Revan's expectation and irritation, the officers chose to invite themselves aboard his vessel. The Shadow Jedi simply eyed them with controlled annoyance. "Take a picture, it'll last longer."

The senior officer smirked slightly but continued to look around the vessel. Certainly wasn't like anything he'd seen before. When the man spoke, he fixed his gaze on Revan. "Lord Centurion... I've been instructed to inform you that the Captain respectfully requests your presence on the bridge."

Revan's retort was quick. "For what?"

"To...discuss tactical plans for the mission. And to inform you that we've received the hyperspace coordinates."

"There isn't anything to discuss. Put the ship where it's supposed to go in the formation and let me handle the rest." Saying nothing more, Revan started to walk past the two men and down the loading ramp. Halfway down, he stopped and turned back to look at them. "Just be sure to let me know an hour before we anticipate exiting hyperspace. Things will need to be prepared...and I'll have to brief the team. Quickly..." Revan wasn't one for long speeches. "Anything else?"

"No, Your Excellency."

Revan nodded and continued walking, connecting briefly with Selina's mind. ~You remember me mentioning Lord Kennedy I'm sure? We're going to take control of what was his base of operations. I don't expect anything to be simple once we get aboard...~

Malia boarded the Manticore. She didn't like secret missions. They were the kind many went on, but usually instead of reunions, families got medals. The idea of it didn't bother her as much as she had thought. Being Mandalorian, dying in battle was the greatest of deaths one could achieve, next to dying to cause a win. She packed light, carrying her duffle with assorted weapons, refreshed from the Coruscant battle, and an exra vest to her Mandalorian armor. Learning from her last adventure, she had packed extra detonators of various uses, and her full set of armor was under her uniform.

She followed her instructions to a smaller bunk than she was expecting, but still a good place to prepare for what they would face. Taking out the enemy ... Sounded easy enough, but things never were cut and dry with simple orders. There would probably be challenges. Suprises. Mali loved suprises. Just not enough to seek them out.

She disassembled her weapons, and secured them in the foot locker before exiting and heading to the lounge to wait.

Selina smirked back at Revan “too true.” Silently, she added ~But not everyone can keep them from me.~ She could tell a lot about a person with a quick peek into the mind. It was just one of those things that came as easy to her as breathing. Picking up the pace, she moved with him rather hastily to his Delta, the Legatus. Taking a seat next to him, she strapped herself in for the short trip back to the Dauntless.

The shuttle had barely touched down before two officers were approaching. Revan was visibly irritated as he left the cockpit. Following close behind him, she made her way to the ramp that was presently extending. His comment made her smirk. “It always is.” The two took it upon themselves to board, which Revan clearly expected, but was not exactly pleased with. His snide remark made the side of her lip curl. In many ways they were alike, at least Selina thought so.

As she listened to them as they told Revan what they wanted. Evidently, the Captain wanted him on the bridge to discuss tactics for the mission and to let him know that they had the hyperspace coordinates. Revan's answer was straight forward, and it was apparent that he thought no such discussion was needed. Selina followed, escorting the two off the shuttle. Revan turned back and ordered that they let him know an hour before exiting hyperspace so that he could brief the team.

They were dismissed and Revan continued on his way. Along the way she heard his voice in her mind, reminding her of Lord Kennedy. Her head tilted only slightly. He told her that the two of them would be taking control of his former base of operations. Things would be messy. They never were as cut and dry as they could be, but then that would just be convenient. ~Goody. Messy...~

Doom was sitting on his bunk assembling and disassembling his DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System (DC-17m ICWS). A gift from his best friend from the academy who was now in charge of a advanced recon commando platoon. The 17m used the same plasma/EMP hybrid ammunition as all clone trooper weapons, and was also more powerful than the DC-15, combining power and accuracy into a small weapon. It could convert from the base stock mount into three different weapons types using attachments: sniper rifle, anti-armor, and pulsed energyHis weapon proved its effectiveness in a variety of situations and was indeed a powerful and useful weapon that was used to deadly efficiency by himself and the ARC troopers who used them. He not only felt close to his weapon for the sentimental value but also because it has gotten him out of sticky situations, including ones where high ranking officials asked him about the uncommon weapon.

Again Doom was doing what he did best, wait. Through his years in the military it was the best thing he has ever come to known. If he accepted that he had to wait half his life then it would not be as bad of an experience. So he sat there with his weapon, overhearing his squad members jokeing around, knowing that the briefs his CO were having about the the mission involved every one of them. The bad part, which he found the best reason for joining, was they would likely not know why they would be there or what would happen before, during, and after the mission. This exhilerated Doom so much, not knowing when or where he would die. The only thing he would hate would be not seeing death in the face of battle or at his own hands on his 22-B Nightfalcon.

Doom sat, awaiting the orders 2LT Hands was now receiving from CPT Hollis.

Talak closes the final window after talking with each and every XO and walks over to his desk and flops in a chair. He opens a red folder and reads a few of the dossiers from the pilots under his direct command on the Manticore and notes that many of them are older and have a lot of experience flying for the High Prince. He is reading about Ensign Helcres Cral when a few pilots walk into his office and salute. Talak rises and returns the salute "May I ask why you are here vods?" A few of the pilots got sheepish looks on their faces and the rest, looks of confusion. Talak realizes why some were confused and chuckles "I apologize, I served with the Mandalorians for quite some time and haven't completely adapted to not using the language as often. Now, who are you and why are you here?" Talak looked at the pilots, waiting for a response when a younger pilot speaks "Sir, we failed to report on time to the docking bay. A few of the younger pilots glare at him while the only 2 seemingly older pilots smile slightly. "I thank you for your honesty. May I ask why exactly you were late?" "Sir, we slept in." "Slept.....in?" "Yes sir." "Well I have heard some weird explanations that I was able to determine a punishment for, but this is just too random........" Talak thinks for a short while and finally comes to a solution: "I want each of you to drop and give me 100 pushups and for the next 5 months you will wake 3 hours before the waking call." Talak smiled inwardly as all of the pilots groaned and reluctantly dropped to the floor and started doing pushups. "HAHAHA you actually believed me?! No get up that isn't your punishment, your punishment is looking like complete fools just now hahaha. Well now that that's over, you may return to your duties" The pilots smile and salute then turn and file out the door.

Talak returns to his seat and composes a quick message to his sweetheart back on Hapan. Once he has finished, he sighs and walks to the window to get a view of the docking bay where hundreds of pilots, mechanics, and crewman are bustling about, getting ready for hyperspace and combat. "This is just another mission. A little bit smaller in scale but none-the-less, I have to perform like I did during the invasion, if not better." Talak walks over to his bed and pulls out several large cases, removing his full set of black, red, and green Mandalorian armor. He dons this armor and attaches his rank and award boards to the special hooks on the chest plate. He pulls 2 Rykk blades out of his bags ans sheathes them on his back along with his old A295, which rested on his back, between the blades. When all of his equipment was in it's respectful place, he put his helmet on his head and smelled the inside of the helmet that never used to leave his head until he was honorably discharged from the Mandalorian 4th fleet, A`den Kotra. He didn't really need the armor at this time and would likely never need it again, but he kept it because it contained too many memories. When all his gear was strapped on he began the short walk to the Docking bay to address the pilots of the Manticore.

Kai'Len Ciunus slumped silently into a chair in the lounge of the Intrepid, a glass of water in his hand. He had performed more checks and maintenance inspections in the last couple of hours than he had since his time spent in the academy. He was tired. Undernormal circumstances, routine inspections were not a big deal. It was just the sheer number of corrections he had had to make. In his personal opinion, only about three quarters of his platoon knew what they were doing. The other fourth went around undoing pretty much all of their colleagues work. And they didn't even know they were doing it! He had made the internal desicion to attempt to keep those men from combat. The last thing he needed right now was to have to explain to the General why his own men were firing on each other. Or breaking things. Or taking things apart when they shouldn't be.

He glanced around the room, noting how quiet it all seemed. Everyone is getting ready for the big moment. Much like I just did with my men. Having his platoon ready for combat and on stand-by pulled an inward sigh of relief from him. It was rather odd for it to be this quiet though. Why, not more than an hour ago he had seen multiple shuttles come and go for different reasons. And now, his little piece of the universe was still. Sure he could feel the soft rumble of the sublight engines beneath his boots, hear the distant conversations and the soft radio traffic coming from his helmet in the seat next to him, but beneath it all, it was still. The calm before the storm. And he still had no idea how big a storm it was.

He sighed and pulled out his datapad, choosing to go over the equipment inventory instead of dwelling on things he had no control over. He was about halfway down his list when he noticed that his numbers didn't add up. There were parts unaccounted for. And not just small things like nuts and bolts. There was an entire spare cannon assembly missing! And a few of the small arms weapons that the platoon kept in case of emergencies. He sat up in his chair, silently thanking the force that he made his own counts of the assets, aside from the ones done by his men. But where could they have gone?! It wasn't like there were many places to hide them on a ship. He growled to himself in irritation that he hadn't caught it sooner.

He quickly got up and marched from the lounge. The deck shifted slightly beneath his feet as he moved. They had entered hyperspace. Great. That meant he only had a short amount of time to find those kits. If he couldn't, then his superiors would need to be informed. And that meant that once again, it was anyone's guess who could be trusted.

Roleplaying as Grand Admiral OVERMIND (sorry 'ol chap, had to get the ball rolling)

The Grand Admiral noticed a green light flash on the arm of his chair on the command deck.
"That's the signal, Captain Gourdine. Time to launch. Transmit coordinates to the fleet and instruct all ships to jump immediately. Red Alert. Prepare to engage!"

The High Prince watched as the stars turned into lines and felt the lurge as the ship jumped to hyerspace. This was it. The time had come. He would leave the space tactics to the Admiral, or whoever the Admiral appointed if he chose to go to the station himself. He turned to Koru and Kaidlen. "That's it, time to get to our assault shuttle, we will launch as soon as we get clearance from operations command."

The High Prince and his small team of commandos boarded the Dawn Treader. They would be the first to pass through and disable the shields and exterior defense mechanisms. Only the armor of the Dawn Treader would be able to pierce through the shields and withstand enemy fire. He could feel the main ships come out of hyperspace as the ship plunged forward.

He keyed the comm. "Delta Leader to control, request permission to launch."

The High Prince waited from a response. "Delta Leader, this is Control, you are clear for launch. May the Force be with you."
It was the voice of Grand Admiral OVERMIND. The High Prince offered a salute to the comm, though of course the Admiral could not see it, and he guided the ship out of the launch bay and forward toward the space station. He quickly scanned the area with his sensors but he had no time to worry about that right now. The second assault fleet would soon get here with the second wave. Only two of the original four ships had arrived. The other two were sent to transmit the coordinates to the 2nd Assault Fleet and then rendezvous here. The Prince's first objective was to disable the space stations' shields and exterior weapons before the fleet arrived so they would have a chance against the enemy ships.

"Brace yourselves," the High Prince muttered quietly to his companions. The ship jumped forward and slammed into the shield and some kind of repulsive field. Everyone was thrown out of their seats. Using the Force and the ship's sensors to find a weak spot in the shields, he headed for that area, directing his ship directly through the shields. Electrostatic from the intrusion and break in the field caused the entire shield and the ship to tremor wildly. Once the ship was in radio transmission length, a ancient technology, even to the Clone Wars era, though it was closer to the era in which the technology of the space station was developed, he broadcasted a signal to the station immediately recognizing him as the station's commander and deactivating the main shields and weapons. No one could have locked him out of that system, even if they wanted to. They transmitted an affirmative signal to the fleet indicating the shield was down and they were heading in, and the Prince directed his ship to a secret docking bay, that revealed itself as his ship approached, while broadcasting a special signal over the radio-waves. Large hangar doors opened as the ship went in, and then re-closed. He landed the ship steadily on the metallic floor, and they were ready to begin their quest. Each of the other teams would soon be heading for the station at assigned hangars, already open and visible.

As Revan had asked, the Captain notified him approximately one hour prior to their anticipated reversion to realspace. Standing in the hangar bay, Revan watched a handful of deck hands go about their typical duties ensuring their own combat vessels were ready to go. For a brief moment, Revan allowed the various thoughts and emotions being poured into the force to fill his mind and body. They were scattered...as he'd expected. From the seasoned veteran to the most inexperienced rookie, anticipation was a predominant emotion. Satisfied things were in order, Revan walked up the loading ramp of the Legatus and took a seat in the main cabin. Checking the time, the Shadow Jedi noted there were still another fifteen minutes until their anticipated arrival.

---------------

When the klaxons began sounding, indicating the ship was progressing into Battle Stations, Revan casually came to his feet and made his way to the cockpit of his vessel. In a practiced, deliberate manner - he began conducting the rest of the interior pre-flight checks. By the time he moved on to the engine start checklist, the hangar bay was bustling with activity. Pilots and troopers alike began scrambling to their designated staging locations. Turning his head, he smirked at Selina just as the Air Marshal gave them launch clearance. "Selina. Be a dear and close the loading ramp." Revan winked at Selina, choosing levity in their present situation. As of yet, he'd not heard a word from the other members of the team. Though of course...that mattered little to him - he'd not be waiting. "Hopefully the others find a way to catch up."

Smoothly, Revan added power to the repulsorlift engines just before engaging the sublight drive. In an instant, they were darting away from the Dauntless towards the impressive space station looming in the distance. It wasn't a new sight for Revan, but he did note one thing. The strength of the dark side surrounding the place had diminished significantly with the death of Lord Kennedy. Shortly, they arrived at their appointed insertion area with very little real resistance. Then again, Revan would have been impressed if...any...of the vessels in the area had more than marginal success in tracking the Legatus even intermittently. It was certainly his favorite...toy...from his days as a Special Agent. "Standby for full reverse thrust when I say, Selina..."

At full thrust, the Legatus was moving incredibly fast. Just prior to reaching the point of passing through the hangar's shielding, Revan nodded to Selina. "Full reverse thrust!" The Delta-7 trembled slightly as the full brunt of its power was redirected through various exhaust ports. As the Legatus passed into the artificial atmosphere of the station, Revan deactivated the RCS system and operated the shuttle utilizing control surfaces. Given their tapering speed, it actually made the shuttle decidedly less maneuverable than it typically was in the vacuum of space. Pulling the control column sharply back and to the right, Revan caused the vessel to nearly bank to a stop. Activating the repulsorlift engines, Revan manipulated the thrust to allow for increased braking performance. "Alright, shut down the sublight drive." Just as Selina did, the Legatus' horizontal velocity tapered very close to zero. Smiling as he set the vessel down, Revan commented. "Nice work as usual, Selina." Once the vessel was completely on the ground, Revan shutdown all systems and lowered the loading ramp. Unfastening his restraints, Revan swiftly departed the cockpit and descended the loading ramp onto the durasteel deck.

"We're destroying clones. Let's hope they haven't hatched yet..."

Talak watched as the blue-white lines disappeared outside the docking bay and then he turned toward his console and pressed a button that would tell all pilot's to prepare for launch. He would wait for orders from Admiral OVERMIND before launching every fighter that they had brought with them. He pressed another button and brought up a voice link with all the pilots "Alright, we are now only waiting for OVERMIND's order to launch. Remember, we are trying to make this as quiet and quick as possible so keep the blaster fire down until you see enemy fighters or your being attacked. Commander Talak out." He closed the link and waited for order by OVERMIND.

Kaidlen remained quiet, not seeing a need to speak. She looked over at Captain Tav, and smiled to herself under her helmet. She, unlike some of the others, had no issues with him. He had remained loyal, and in doing so, had earned her trust. Afterall, she knew what Koru was going through, since some of it was being directed her way as well. The young Colonel once had many friend among the Royal Guard at one time. However, most of those people were gone now, missing or possibly dead. Still, because of her well known association with them, Kaidlen was given a wide berth. Some thought that she was a traitor as well. Several wondered how she even managed to survive the secret attack made on her within her suite within the Palace. Shan wasn't worried. The High Prince knew just how trustworthy she was. There was no way she would ever betray him.
When Kaidlen heard Stratus order out to brace themselves, she tried to do just that. Still, she was thrown from her seat, inspite of the crashwebbing. As she flew upwards, and to one side, she reached out and flipped herself around to land on her feet.
"Are we in, Sir?"

Selina looked to Revan as he paused to make sure everything was in order. Following him into the Legatus, she awaited his instructions. Around them, the hangar filled with bodies moving to their designated stations. While he went through the preflight checks, she closed the ramp having anticipated a swift departure. It was as though she read Revan's mind, as he asked her to as she did. “Way ahead of you Revan.” His next comment was not at all unexpected but to most would be a little alarming.

Not moments later, the ship left the hangar and was off toward the space station. It didn't take them long to arrive at the appointed spot. Little resistance told her that they hadn't been tracked. Shifting in her seat, she nodded as he told her to standby for full reverse thrust. Ready to go within seconds, she swiftly carried out his command when it came. The shuttle shuddered beneath them as they entered the atmosphere of the station. Revan went about landing the shuttle and when he activated the repulsorlift, she shut down the sublight drive as he asked. Having experienced flying with Revan many times, she had simply started to anticipate what his next command would be.

When all systems were powered down, she too unstrapped herself and followed him out of the cockpit and down the ramp. Revan told her that they would be destroying clones, and that he hoped they hadn't hatched yet. Just the thought of that was odd. Hatching...ugh. “Indeed. Let's hope so.” It could get messy if they had.

Kai'Len groaned audibly. He had managed to find the missing cannon assembly. some di'kut had miss-labeled it and stored it in the wrong hanger! But the small arms weapons were still at large. He had search as best he could, but there just was not enough time. He pulled out his datapad and grimaced slightly as he uploaded the message he had written up earlier. It was addressed to his superior officer, explaining that the small arms weapons had gone missing. He made slight mention that he suspected foul play, but that under the S.O.P.'s the weapons being lost would not hamper the armored division's efficiency. still, it was a very embarrassing letter to have to send. If his commander thought that the missing guns was a security threat, then Kai'Len and his unit would most likely have to sit this one out. He severely doubted it would come to that.

His brisk walk took him back to his platoon's hangar bay. He slipped quickly into his small "office" (which in all actuallity looked more like a broom closet than anything else) and began gearing up. He strapped his full armor and his assortment of weapons to his body before donning his helmet. Just as quickly, he slipped back out of the office, climbing the stairs at the back of the hanger to stand on the landing above. a small message scrolled across his HUD. Hyperspace exit in ten minutes. With a few rapid blinks of his eyes, the voice projector clicked on in his helmet. He cleared his throat and faced the now waiting men of Second Armored Battalion, Bravo Company, Second Platoon. Sixty of them, give or take a mechanic or two.

"O.k. Ladies, we come out of Hyperspace in under ten Mikes. Once we're out, things are gonna get a little interesting. We have our standing orders. Everyone strap in and gear up. I want us locked and loaded in five and waiting to jump when the Brass tells us how high. Clear?"

"Sir! Yes, Sir!"
came the thundering reply.

Kai'Len smiled to himself. "Good, Move out!"

He practically leapt down the stairs and ran over to his own AT-TE. The main gunner was making a final check on his weapon as Kai walked up. The 2nd LT noticed one of his normal crew members prepping an AT-ST a few yards away. He cocked his head and glanced over the troopers he was working with today. He didn't know any of them. He shrugged slightly, remembering that all of the units had gotten a good jumble after the attempted coup. He inclined his head in greeting as he trudged inside the armored beast to make his own checks. The trooper nodded back and flicked a two finger salute before going back to his work.

Yes, Kai thought to himself as he waited for his orders to move out, this is going to be a very long day.....

Roleplaying for the Admiral

"Sir, Delta Leader confirms successful landing. Incoming hostile fighters and bombers en route."

"Thank you, Lieutenant. Control, send a few squadrans to take out those bombers. Launch the troop assault shuttles. Send them on their way. I will need another couple squadrans to escort our assault shuttles, and a squadran to take on those fighters. All fighters, launch, those are the assignments."

"Yes sir! All fighters, this is Control, launch immediately. Gold Leader, this is control, confirm launch. Take out those bombers. We need 2 squadrans for escort duty and two more to take on the fighters, over."

"It looks like our reinforcements are arriving. All away teams, confirm launch."

Talak gets a fierce grin as he hears the order straight from the bridge "Alright boys, time to go! 1st and 2nd squadron, guard the transports, 3rd go for the fighters, the rest your job is to take out any bombers you see. GO TO MEN!" Talak smirks as the pilots cheer, close their cockpits and rocket out of the docking bay to perform their assigned duty. Immediately soft chatter began on his com as the pilots reported how things were going. 3 enemy fighters were already down and a whole squadron of bombers. As he listened, a faint message came in saying that the transports had reached their destinations and that the 2 squadrons were splitting, one to aid fight the enemy fighters, and the other to fight the bombers. Talak again smiled at how easy this was moving along. They had not sustained a single casualty in the 30 minutes they had been fighting.

(OOC: Sorry about the delay in posting, but the Holiday Season kept me really busy)

The Admiral was watching as the forces were launched from the Vanguard and then the alarms went off, as the Task Force detected the presence of incoming enemy ships. The stood up from his chair and headed to the Tactical officer, looking to his screen. The officer was working hard to get a fine reading on the approaching enemy, but they were still a little far away for the sensors to distinguish them clearly.

"Deploy all fighters" was the first order from the Admiral, which the Fighter Coordinator followed suit.

Next, he returned his look towards the screen and made some quick calculations. The enemy would most likely try to cut the direct line from the ground forces to the forces in orbit, thus preventing the Task Force so send reinforcements to the ground, if the need arised. Plus, it would block the escape of the deployed forces. And that was something that they could not allow.

"Helm, give me flank speed and make your course one niner seven point oh five. Comm, signal the Task Force to follow us. Weapons, man all Turbolasers and Ion Batteries, get them ready to fire a salvo towards the incoming fighters. We will use the fire barrier gentlemen, so keep our fighters off the line of fire until the last minute."

Koru whistled to himself as they came out of hyperspace. He had never seen anything like that station before. When the Prince said to brace himself he did just that, unsuccessfully. He was thrown out of his chair and fell to the floor with a grunt. He picked himself up and quickly made sure all of his things were still on his person.

A small smile came to his face We're in. So far so good.

After the 146th Repulsorlift Company Commander, CPT Alford, received the orders CPT Hollis had given him; he returned to where his company HQ was on the Manticore to give his platoon leaders a briefing. From there 2LT Hands called a meeting with his squad leaders.

SGT Juscus was told by a runner that the Lieutenant wanted to meet with the squad leaders so he immediately grabbed his helmet and weapons to move out, leaving his squad in their cramped storage room which was turned into a makeshift barracks which was not even large enough to hold them. He range walked to where he was told to meet and there he found 2LT Hands and SGM King standing by a window.

SGT Juscus: Where is everyone?
2LT Hands: You are the first one to arrive.
SGT Juscus: Oh.
SGM King: Don't worry they shant be long.
SGT Juscus: What is there to be worried about?
2LT Hands: You understand there will be hostile enemy fire in this mission.
SGM King: You will be strictly under my command Sergeant.
SGT Juscus: I understand.
Two more squad leaders walked up to where the conversation was taking place.
2LT Hands: Won't be long know.
After a few more minutes of conversation the last squad leader arrived.

The Lieutenant went on to discuss that when they hit the ground they were in flight to the dropoff they would receive their orders and that there was a 100% chance of hostile enemy contact. The squad leaders were told the general information and good lucks of what war was about and was told to go back to their squad to get ready.

SGT Juscus walked back to the small supply room. On the way he had to laugh with irony at how somehow information was filtered to knowing nothing at the lowest levels. He got back and told his men everything in detail that was important. Then he added that the Lieutenant wanted them to know that they should care about honor and training. His men laughed when he said training, probably remembering the multiple "training accidents" and "noncombat asset losses" that occured whenever they went on training exerices. He knew ever clear that whatever they were going to get themselves into, fast-paced decision-making and experience was the only thing Doom could count on.

Talak listened as he heard the order to keep his fighters out of the way until the last minute and immediately conveyed the order to his pilots "Ok it looks like command wants to use the fire barrier method, that means everybody needs to stay out of their line of fire. New guys, the older guys know what I am talking about, you don't want to be in the way of one of these ships turbolasers, or for that matter, any of their weapons. As soon as the star destroyers cease fire, I want you to storm the remaining enemies. Move fast, keep your wits about you, and this should be easy."

Kai keyed up his platoon over the commlink. They were all strapped into their assorted vehicles and riding the assault shuttles. He had no idea what to expect once the touched down, but the higher ups had advised that hostile fire was a definite. His eyes close for a split second as his fist clenches and unclenches, an old habit.
"Alright Bravo, listen up! We'll have touch down momentarily. When it happens, follow your squad leaders, they know what their doing. Ok, We have our orders. nothing gets out but us. if it moves and it isnt a friend, it dies. simple enough. Just remember to check your fire and keep your ears open. And may the Force be with you.
He clicked the back of his teeth, switching over to a private channel reserved for his Squad Leaders, his Platoon Sgt., and himself. he had often wondered if the brass minded that he had made the chain of command in his platoon a simple one.... well now wasn't exactly the time to worry.
"Alright guys, I know i made you wait to give your briefing to your squads, but now is the time. you only have a few minutes to fill them in on what i told you. And trust me boys, the stuff i didn't tell you wouldn't even fill a shell casing. We're pretty much blind here, so just keep your guys moving ahead. Alright? A clean sweep."
3rd Squad Leader Sgt. McHeily spoke up, "Sir, I got a bad feeling about this... Something just aint sitting right...."
"Can it soldier!"
SGM Tungsten, the Platoon Sgt, growled. "We got our orders. Keep your superstitions to yourself. got it?"
"But Sarge, I'm serious."
Kai rolled his eyes. If he didn't say something, they'd be at it all day.... "Enough. Sgt. Heily, your comment is duly noted. Now brief your men and get ready to land. Understood?"
Five voices echoed through his helmet, "Yes Sir."
"Good"
He clicked the channel off and turned in his seat to face his own crew. Time to brief them as well. They'd be landing any second, and then only the Force knew what would be waiting for them.
