[Locke Firecam]

Your holoscreen fills with an image of the press room onboard the Republic ship Highwind, flagship of Admiral Firecam. The Admiral stands in full dress uniform, with Vice Admiral Kelly seated close by. After shuffling some papers around, he looks at the camera and begins his announcement.

"I am here to day to announce a very important appointment. Vice Admiral John Kelly has always served the Republic with honor and his track record has proven him to be a capable leader and commander. For this and many other reasons, I am hereby, with the blessing of Admiral Overmind and our Prince, appointhing him to the position of Naval Executive Officer." He turns to face the Vice Admiral, "May you serve with the same honor and pride that has marked your career."

The camera zooms out as the newly appointed XO stands to accept his new position, shaking the Admiral's hand, as the screen returns to its previous program.
