First thing is we need a date and timeframe of when this will take place, 6 months, 1 year, 18 months, or 2 years from now. That way people can mark their calendars and start planning on attending and giving us an RSVP. We also need to determine how long this will last. I would say 3 days, like a 3-day weekend type of thing, but we could do 4 days but that's my reccomendation.

End of July, begining of August 2010 for the when. That will give those who have some distance to go time to save up the funds needed for transportation. Plus, I have a better shot at getting vacation time to attend.

Due to my recent life changes, I may or may not be there the entire time. It will depend on many factors. I am sad to report that, with switching jobs, I may be traveling a lot. It will depend on if I'm here or not now.

What about Stratum or however you spell it? I went there with Oho and his friends. They have missions and teams and you earn points by attacking bases and everything. It was seriously cool.

My deadline for knowing if I will be able to attend should be in the 4Q09, provided I have a fixed date for the IRCON. Once I have bought the plane ticket, I will be fully committed, so do not change the date afterwards ;-)

havent been able to nail anything down from
my higher ups, but i believe my unit actually be getting deployed in june. not sure though. hopefully it falls through and they push it back like they did with my last one. bought me an extra month and a half, lol. but if everything goes the way i hope it will, the dates listed will be perfect.

I have a longer period of time in which to buy mine, in comparison to you. I figure I'll be getting mine in Feb or March of next year. I have to wait until income tax time and use my federal return to buy my tickets. The price of round trip tickets will determine if I'm going solo, or if Hawk comes with me. If I can afford to buy two round trip tickets, he'll be coming. Also, I might end up having to fly out of Nashville, if it's substantually cheaper for me to fly out of there than it is from Knoxville. And I'm talking a savings of a couple of hundred dollars, even with the cost of gas.

Ok, I still have some time yet, but I should be set by the end of November if I will make it there.

Because of the current mess within IR, I suggest that we move this back a year, and plan to have it in 2011.

Either way works for me, but Kaidlen may have a point. Anyway, I should know for sure if it is still a GO for 2010 by early November. Otherwise, I may not be able to participate.

After discussion with Kaidlen and Joesefus, we have decided to postpone IRCON-1 until 2011 (pushing it back by another year) due to finances.

What a shame, but I understand it is for the best. In the meantime, I will need to plan for alternative vacation plans :-)

Nothing at the moment. Been too busy trying to stabilize the game to give thoughts to this. I'm guessing that it's still being planned for in August, just a year later than what was originally suggested. There should be a shift in the dates so that it's towards the end of a week. Though some of us might be there for a longer period of time than what's originally planned if we have a long distance to go, like OM and myself.
