This is a big deal. Depending on the RSVPs, we have to determine first how big of a place we need to host the convention. If its small-enough of a number we can do it at my house or someone's house in Phoenix, or if we need a hotel conference room, etc. We also need to think about housing for those coming down. Depending on the numbers we might be able to have them stay at our places saving them cost of hotel fees, etc. If its too many we can have first-RSVP first/come first/serve type of basis and others will be provided discounted places to stay but will have to front the fees. Everyone has connections somewhere, if we pool all our resources together we can help find the cheapest solutions to all these issues, including helping people save on travel costs.
The initial where is Phoenix. Where in Phoenix will need coordinating by the Phoenix IR members.

Okay, I've gotten tired of waiting for Jim to post this, so I am. He told me about this place that he and some of his friends rented, for $180 a night. It's a really fancy cabin (at least that's my understanding of it), and it's not too far from a campground. He also told me that it's not too far from the Grand Canyon and some other touristy things to do.
Hopefully, he'll add in more details now.

So do I. Hawk should go again too, he was only 2 the one time he went, and doesn't remember it. Provided he comes.
I think the cabin idea is a good one, even with the nightly cost being $180 a night. We're not going to be renting it for a week after all, and the cost would be split among at least those who actually sleep there. Plus it would make an excellent base of operations for everyone.

This particular cabin had 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, 3 bathrooms, cable tv in every room, high speed internet (wifi), and a couch bed in the living room. It was very, very nice. It is still something I am toying with in my mind, it would be a great place to go for sure.

I'll be laying claim to a bedroom, and a bed. I can't sleep on the floor anymore, not at my age. At least, not without an air mattress. Hawk, if he comes, can easily sleep on the floor. Btw, I'm willing to share a bedroom with another female who decides to attend.

Hrm, well if we are still considering this, I would offer a few spaces in my house
However I only have one couch and a spare bedroom and 2.5 bathrooms. (the sink counts! Kidding) Let me know if we are still considering this, due to my new job I may not be able to leave my surrounding area.
