Coruscant
Revan leaned idly against the cool hull of his Delta-7 as his eyes lingered over the vast metropolis that was Coruscant. From his position, he could see clearly down the Grand Corridor, towards the immense structure that was the Imperial Palace. Not that such a thing was an accomplishment of note. It so literally dwarfed anything in its presence that it would be impossible to miss. Time had clearly continued on in the civilized areas of the galaxy during his absence. Admittedly, he'd not exactly been out of touch with the greater galaxy the past several months. The time had come for Revan. He'd been forced to leave behind his home, friends, associates. Even his child now resided inside a Cluster that he scarcely cared to visit. Still, Revan knew that Jayden could feel his presence...just as Revan could Jayden's when distance was not so much a factor.
It would appear that things had gone on in a relatively civil manner since his last visit to Coruscant. He was happy about that - and glad to hear his cousin was still getting along safely within the Imperial Republic. Closing his eyes, Revan allowed the subtle nuances of the force to wash over him. He knew that if his presence on the planet was known, there would be questions. Given that he'd been in the same place for several moments now, Revan knew his visit was no longer a secret. After all, he had designed the vast majority of the Imperial Republic's security systems. Sneaking on to the capital world of that very same government was a near impossibility without using alternative means. Means that Revan was very careful to use only when the situation warranted.
Revan did not know where the next day would take him. For now...he was content to drink in the very pulse of the planet he had certainly missed. Perhaps even more than his own homeworld.

It had been hard enough having to tell him of the vision that she’d had of his wife’s missing children and goodbye. Of course she believed it was the last time she’d see him, but the Force had other plans it seemed. Even after that she’d accompanied the High Prince to Hapes for the coronation of Layha’s daughter and saw Jayden then. It was extremely difficult then, with the brief commotion endangering the lives of the royals. In the end, she’d done her duty though admittedly her drive in that case had been vengeance of Jayden’s would be assassins. Evidently, separating herself from the two males that she loved was not effective. Perhaps she needed another approach…
Before she changed her mind, she was moving off of the balcony and inside her quarters to retrieve her cloak. It took her but a moment to cloak her form and she moved swiftly through the halls of the palace. Now familiar with most of the inner workings of the palace, she knew the quick routes out. On this particular evening, she emerged outside and began to move toward his presence, using it much like a beacon. Selina didn’t actually need the cloak, as Revan would know it was her and probably already knew that she was coming. As she moved toward the building he was currently situated on, her eyes were drawn skyward. Yes, he was there.
The one thing she’d not figured out yet, was what to say to the man when she laid eyes on him once more. She was both angry and eager to see him, and for that she hated herself. Her eyes moved around the building to look for a suitable route to the roof where Revan was residing. Her gaze fell upon the fire escape of the building. With no other visible options outside, she began to climb the thing. Even as she was ascending the building her heart was racing, but not just from the physical activity. Still she didn’t know what to say as she emerged on the roof. His shuttle was there, and as she moved away from the side of the building he came into view. Her breath caught as she opened her mouth to speak, and she ended up simply staring at him.

So why then was Revan back on Coruscant now? He was hardly nostalgic. Had he left loose ends in his wake? To an extent, perhaps - certainly nothing earth-shattering. No, Revan knew the real reason was simply that he had a greater vested interest in the direction of the galaxy, of the force. Yes - he would remain in the shadows to the extent possible, but his training and indoctrination as a Shadow Jedi simply meant he could not abandon his larger duties. His wife, Layha, continued to manipulate events behind a veil of secrecy. Their professional affairs remained largely separate...unless they interfered with one another. That generally lead to a sometimes...volatile...confrontation.
As thoughts continued to swirl through Revan's mind, he sensed the approach of a familiar presence. More than familiar even. There were only two people in the galaxy he would have recognized with greater clarity, neither were presently on Coruscant. Still, he wondered why she chose not to speak. Still leaning against the hull of the Delta-7, Revan kept his eyes focused in front of him, away from Selina. "So...are you going to say something?" Gradually, Revan turned to smile slightly at Selina. "...or are you simply going to stand there and stare, Selina?"

As she waited for his reply, she forced herself to keep looking at him. Clearly avoiding him was no longer possible, and certainly hadn't been really considering the family he married into so long ago. Selina would quite obviously have to take a more direct approach to dealing with her pain. Of course she didn't have a plan, or a clue of how to accomplish what she needed to, but the pain wasn't going to simply go away. Why did he have to come there now...

Revan had long discovered that he was perhaps one of the more 'traditional' Shadow Jedi in the galaxy. Specifically speaking, he did not approve of haphazard training of Shadow Jedi. In recent years, it would seem certain individuals had a bad tendency to over populate one side of the force...or infuse it with far too many neutrals. Selina Vadcasta was not, in Revan's mind, ready for the responsibility of being a Shadow Jedi. Once he'd fulfilled his own personal promises to his wife, he told her quite simply that he needed to return to work. He cared for her, but he could not allow that love to leave the galaxy in a state of disarray. At the moment, the force was barely maintaining. What the Imperial Republic and the Jedi of the galaxy did not want was the inevitable action that would follow from yet another dark sider being removed from the galaxy. Revan would be the agent of that particular chaos if necessary. That was his job.
Slowly, the smile faded from Revan's face. If Selina wanted to get straight to business, they would. "I sense you are very near the completion of your...practical training. Yet somehow I sense you have changed in my absence. Your signature within the force has seemingly diminished. Not in strength, mind you, but in conviction. You are allowing your mind to become far too polluted with thoughts of things you don't think you can control." Revan took a few steps closer towards Selina. "I expected you to make more progress than you have in my absence. Obviously I was wrong to entrust my affairs to others. You want to be rid of me? Rid of your girlish attachment to me? I will show you the way. I promise you that until that happens...I will always be there, making life ever more difficult for you." Revan's comments were harsh and pointed, but they were the truth. More to the point, they were aimed at triggering a reaction. In fact, the reaction Selina had would very literally determine the course of her continued education.

Things turned more personal then, when he asked if she wanted to be rid of him and her girlish attachment, she very nearly growled at him. He promised to be there making things difficult for her until she had. Selina laughed, though she was not amused. Her expression turned cold and she hissed through the Force ~If you were so concerned with my progress then maybe you shouldn't have left. Or maybe you should have never come back, that way I won't disappoint you.~
She was glaring at him now and snapped sarcastically ~I'm terribly sorry that I grew attached and inconvenienced you, but I certainly fell into the role you put me in didn't I? Just as you expected, I suspect. I raise and protect your son as if he were my own, and your rule, so that you can cast me aside when your wife comes to her senses, if that's even possible. How dare I grow attached! How dare I want you to stay away when you hurt me and don't even care! I guess I have feelings and actually care about someone other than myself!~
Selina didn't mean that last part, but she was angry and quite frankly, he had it coming. She was seething however, and her temperature rose as her words grew more forceful in his mind. Now she wanted to hurt him but it would likely be a wasted effort, she thought, since she didn't believe that he cared about her at all. Her words were out loud now, and chosen carefully “You promise you'll be here to make my life more difficult?” She snorted. He was doing a fine job of it while he was away, what was the difference if he was there or not? “Fine. We'll see if you can keep your promise, Master.” The last word she hissed.

"I apologize if you are hurt by lack of ability to reciprocate your feelings, Selina. We've been through this before. In time, you will learn to work through your emotions and use them to strengthen you. In time you will learn that sacrifices must sometimes be made for the greater good of the galaxy." Revan had made plenty himself. Regardless of what anyone chose to believe. "If you are ready to embrace that concept, I will show you the way. You will find your match in time Selina - that I can assure you." Whether that match would be solitude or an earthly body, Revan did not know. He simply knew that she would find some measure of peace in her life - even as a dark sider.

Revan seemed certain that she would find her match in time. Selina wasn't so sure. It seemed to her that since her brother fell to the dark side, that she might share her twin's fate. Sometimes she felt as though she was on the edge of madness. She considered the possibility for a moment. The prospect of finding a match seemed almost laughable really. Her answer was cold, “Sacrifice is not a foreign concept to me Revan.”

Halfway up the loading ramp, Revan looked back to Selina and smirked slightly. "It was good to see you Selina. You know just as well as anyone that I keep few friends in this galaxy. I'll never forget your friendship to myself and Jayden." Casually, he retreated fully inside the highly modified escort shuttle. Settling down behind the pilot's seat, Revan quickly powered up the vessel before engaging the repulsor drive. In an instant, the spacecraft was arcing high towards Coruscant Orbit. Approximately thirty minutes later, Revan's vessel had cleared the gravity field of Coruscant and slipped into hyperspace. Closing his eyes, he settled in for the journey.

She nodded in response to his expectation, and watched him as he moved to board the shuttle. His smirk made her shake her head a bit. The sentiment was appreciated though, and made her smile. “I know you choose them carefully, and I am honored that I am amongst them. You can always count on me, no matter how I feel about you Revan. And I will always care for Jayden as my own.” Watching as he departed, she tucked her hair behind her ears. For a moment she stood on the roof, then sighed and moved to climb back down the building. This time however, she allowed herself to fall to each of the platforms, controlling her descent with the Force. Not ready to return to the palace just yet, Selina went for a jog and tried to clear her mind.

He took a sip and then quickly and gently put his glass on the counter as anger flared up in him. He tightened his fists and clenched his teeth at the thought of how much Kennedy had messed with his mind. Thoughts and memories that weren't even supposed to exist. He took a deep breathe and exhaled slowely. He unclenched his teeth and and shook his head as the sound of Koru's heavy breathing from the next room caught his sensitive ears. Must have been a busy time on Hapes.
To clear his head, he decided to go to the outside track. He was spending more and more time outside as he was becoming somewhat cramped of being in side all the time. He grabbed his staff from his room, and headed ghostily out of the apparted, barely regestering that he forgot to put on his shoes once again. He jogged silently through the corridors, his color and clothes easily making him one with the darkness. He used stealth and his telepathy to avoid encountering anyone. Being a former assassin/spec op did have it's perks. He happened to look out one of the outside windows and noticed a landing pad with a transport taking off. Shrugging his shoulders he headed to the track. Instead of going down the steps, he chose to the flip over the banister and and land lightly on his feet. Smiling at the small thrill he twirled his staff, stretched, and ran around the track twice.
The first time around completely cleared his mind. Over the course of the second lap he began to continue to try to sort the various memories and decide what was true. The second lap came to an end and he made little progress. Grunting with annoyance, he started to do mock melee combat with his staff. He really didn't want to blow holes in the wall or track. He started at a slow pace. The slow pace quickened as he began to block, dodge, and strike his imaginary opponent.

Her thoughts were incredibly distracted however, so while her senses were sharp, Selina wasn't making full use of them at that moment. In fact, she was keeping her own mobile presence hidden from the rest of Coruscant. Even those familiar with her signature would have a difficult time in placing it at that moment, simply because she didn't particularly wish to be found at that time.
Arriving at the track, she could feel the presence of another. Evidently he had a lot on his mind as well, and was well occupied with his training. Selina took full advantage of the distraction and began to run at full steam. While this felt good, Selina would be exposed now, for any Force Sensitive would be able to feel her drawing on the Force as she pushed herself harder. She didn't care though. In fact, anyone that would try anything would find themselves matched against an angry and confused woman with a great deal of power at her disposal.

He breathed deeply from his recent training and from regaining control before he fired. He swallowed and balled his fists to stop the shaking of his hands. It then hit him why the person startled him so badly. The woman used the same power that his former "master" (he thought the word bitterly) had. He knew there were several in the palace that had the same power: The high prince, Koru's CO, and Auri. He wasn't positive of several others though. It was because of Kennedy Jaylen still wasn't completely over his fear of those who could use the force. This was why he kept his distance from them. Even encouragement from Koru still hadn't convinced him to change his position. Realizing that he was still shaking, he dropped to the ground in a cross legged sitting position to calm himself down. He took another deep breathe and laid his staff on his lap.

Stopping suddenly, she turned back to him. She didn’t approach just yet, but spoke softly “Are you alright?” Slowly she approached him, sensing his fear and distress. It occurred to her that he might be afraid of her, so she tried to reassure him “I won’t hurt you. Are you alright?”

I'm...fine." He said after pausing. He didn't really want to tell any lies as she probably would detect it. Truth is, he was only fine. He unclenched his fists and stood using his staff for some support. He tried to detect any kind of intent within her mind out of habit but immediatly stopped as he didn't want to intrude on anything private. He finally opened his eyes and turned his head toward her, yellow eyes somewhat glinting in the darkness, all the while fighting the enormous urge to run from the force user.
Gaining some confidence from not running off, he spoke again, "I'm just not totally used to everything...or everyone here yet..." His expression turned to one of apology,"...look, I'm sorry for almost shooting at you."

Offering her hand, she smiled “I'm Selina Vadcasta. And you are?” She tilted her head the other way slightly, still watching him closely and trying not to startle him further. Scared men were like time bombs really, could explode at any moment...

He was suprised at how...nice?...this force user seemed to be. He was under the impression that they weren't all that outgoing. He was also suprised that she was patient enough to wait around as he calmed himself down to answer. He picked up his staff from the grass.

She gave him enough time to consider a reply before offering one of her own. “I don't go out often.” A soft chuckle and she explained “I work a lot.”

He did a quick mental search if there was anyone in the area out of habit as he thought of something to say. "I don't get around much either. I pretty much just stick around in my room or in the palace."

"And I'm not nervous because of the topic. I'm nervous...for...other reasons." His nervousness turned to annoyance as he caught several stray thoughts from the woman. He let his annoyance die down as he crossed his arms,"What branch do you serve in?"

In her mind, another with abilities like hers would be a comfort, but perhaps his previous encounters with Force Users left a bad taste in his mouth. Perhaps that was why he was nervous and uncomfortable...Still, she hadn't hurt him, and assured him that she wouldn't even before he learned her name. Selina was very guarded with her thoughts, unsure if he was actively monitoring what he could get a read on. He certainly was not attempting to penetrate her mind, but that wasn't to say he wasn't able to do so. Caution was key, until she had more information to work with...

He knew a force users abilities and knew that she could easily follow him if she wished, but he was too focused on their conversation: the non-verbal. He focused on how she acted, her kindheartedness, and her concern for someone that she didnt' even know. Although this didn't make him much more comfortable around force users, he now realized that there were some force users out there that weren't like Kennedy at all.
He walked throught the door of the living room and noticed something was different. A light was on and Koru was making...caf?! "What are you doing up now?"
Koru turned around with small smile and shrugged as he leaned against the counter,"I woke up before my alarm and figured there was no reason in trying to get back to sleep. As for the caf, if you're wondering, I decided to try something different for a change." Koru shrugged. "So how was your little excursion?"
"Why didn't you tell me that not all force users were like Kennedy?!" Jaylen asked Koru with a hint of anger.
"So you met one of the local-,"
"Yes," Jay interrupted him. Jay raised his voice with more frustration,"and she was nothing like Kennedy!" Jay spat the name out with disgust.
"Jay, calm-"
"Why didn't tell me that not all of them were like him?!" He was suprised when Koru didn't immediately answer. Koru finished brewing the caf and poured himself a mug. He added some sugar and milk and then sat down at the small table. Koru's expression took him off guard: it was a serious expression but without anger.
Koru took a breath," Jay, first off, cool off, the anger doesn't suite you." Jay was about to retort but Koru kept on going,"second, if you remember correctly, I did tell you what the Jedi here were like, I even tried to get you to meet with Stratus. You also should of realized they weren't all like Kennedy when we went to the one ceremony with Col. Shan.
After several time of trying, I decided that it would probably be better if you just met one right out of the blue and find out for yourself that they were different." Koru finished what he had to say and took a sip of his caf. Jay cracked a smile as Koru shuddered and poured the caf into the sink," Must be pretty bitter.
"Thanks. Sorry for getting mad like that."
"Apology accepted. I've kept my promise about not telling anyone about your abilities and you staff except Stratus; now, I want you to make me promise in return: promise me that you'll at least try to talk to the force users around."
"Sure." Jay headed back to bed," Koru, one more thing: do you know a Selina Vadcasta?"
"Yeah, I've met her a few times. She work on the Prince's staff. I don't know her that well but she seems nice enough." he replies as he started making some hot tea. Jay chuckled as he went back to his room.
