I have recently decided to change my major. I will no longer be striving for anything Interpreting-related.

Instead, I have decided to leave behind not only my job and my almost complete education to follow my heart and do something that makes me happier. This is a major step - and let me tell you, I did not take it lightly. This means I almost get to start at square one with school, and get to walk away from an amazing scholarship.

While I am in the process of getting things together and preparing to move, I will have long bouts of inactivity. I'm sorry for that, but this is important to me. It is not something I will go back on. It is not something I will compromise.

I plan to be in Colorado permanently by the beginning of the year, and I really do not foresee a return once school has been completed (finally). So I'm leaving behind family, friends, and some friends closer than family. I will stay in touch, and will do my best to return for the IRCon event next year.

Koru: Physical Anthropology with an emphasis on Forensics. Not what you see on CSI. Well, kind of, but think older cases. If I could do anything with it, I'd go to Ireland and spend my whole life searching for and excavating Bog bodies to learn about the Iron Age and the Celtic people. What is more amazing than 20,000 year old bodies so well preserved that the organs are still in tact, to the point where you can even tell the person's last meal? Soooo cool! But that will have to be later down the line, and work on not quite so old cases first.

Jaylen: The school I plan on attending is in Boulder, but I'd like to live in the springs or Denver. I have friends and family in both. It will be a nice change from this horrid desert. I will be going up there again the last weekend in June. (oh btw, I will need a LOA that weekend for sure ...)

Quinn: I owe you a kick to the shin. I'll try to make it light. Unless you keep going.

Well lots of luck with it. It does sound really interesting. I have a real life friend who is an archeologist. So, I can easily understand your motivation for the change.

It's pretty set. Here's the plan for my new major:

I will have my associates in December.

I will get my Bachelor's from ASU (I know ... I'm too chicken to tell my father. He will kill me).

Field work for a semester or two.

Masters from Boulder. I don't really want to put it off, but for me to have a smooth transition, I have to.
