Life rarely goes the way it is expected to. This was a lesson that many would learn over and over during their lifetimes. It was also a lesson the Ieyena had faced more times then she liked. After almost five years of assisting her father with his battle against an unidentifiable illness she had watched he slip out of this life in his sleep.

Once again she found herself in her official residence on Coruscant, but unlike the countless time she had spent here in the past she found no comfort in it's cold and lifeless walls. She had dedicated her entire life in being everything to everyone and in the process had lost sight of who she truly was. This truth was now all too obvious in her minds eye. Yet again she had returned to the only life is had known. But this time she wounded if it was the life that she truly wanted.

She knew that she would need to face them both sooner-or-latter, but part of her didn’t want to explain the conflict that she felt inside. There had been a time in her life when she would have spoken with both of them freely about dilemma she faced, but now the words just weren’t there.

“M’Lady,” the voice of her ever-faithful Head of Security Katalina Halmana penetrated the jumble of thoughts that was washing over her.

“Yes?” Ieyena resnoded without turning to look at her.

“There is a message for you from Kimla on the desk in your study. Would you like me to bring it to you.”

“Not now.” was all she said.

James Stratus paced his public office. There were many people briefing him on the various would-haves of the day, and things that need decision making on his end. Suddenly he became alert and looked up, which was a change from his pretending to be interested in what the boring meeting presenters were saying, and they all stopped and looked up at him. "Your Highness?" one of them asked. He did not respond for a moment. He sensed a familiar presence that he had not felt in a while, more than one as a matter of fact. Ieyena? Josefus? Revan? he thought. No...after all this time....it couldn't be...at least he had not expected it. Wow. What timing! When things were starting to fall apart. What in the Force was going on? Whatever it was, he intended to find out soon.

"
Proceed, senator." He said shortly.

“I need you to send a message to the offices of the Supreme Ruler and Grand Admiral Overmmind, stating that I have returned to duty and am at their disposal.” Ieyena requested without looking at Katalina.

“As you wish M’Lady.”

As Katalina turned t leave she was stopped by the sound of Ieyena’s voice. “If anyone should need me I will be in my chamber meditating.”

“Yes M’Lady.”

With that said Ieyena made her way to her sleeping chamber. She felt a need to gain some harmony with the galaxy.

Grand Admiral OVERMIND was a the bridge of the Avenging Phoenix, the new flagship of the Imperial Republic Military, commissioned thanks to the High Prince after the Avenger was destroyed above Coruscant's orbit. The Admiral was reviewing some procedures with Vice Admiral Sarriak, when the Comm officer interrupted.

"Sir, there is an incoming message for Grand Admiral OVERMIND. High priority."

"Patch it to this console"
said the Admiral.

The Admiral listened to the message. It was a brief message, but it was from a person he had no news in quite a while. A series of memories danced through his mind, both happy and sad ones. He was on his way back to Coruscant, and he imagined that she was on her way there as well. So, he keyed a brief message for he: "Welcome back Counselor. I will be back in Coruscant in 2 days, so I hope to see you there."

The High Prince was on Hapes when he recieved an urgent message. His eyes widened when he saw Ieyena's name on the message. She's back. Suddenly it all came together. He typed a very brief message to her, using a strong encryption code that was personal, only she had the ability to decrypt it, as they had developed it together long ago. "Urgent business, dangerous. Need help. Wait for my return to Coruscant." The smaller the message, the stronger the encryption and the harder it would be to even intercept let alone crack. No one would even notice its transmission...except the recipient. Satisfied with his message, he sent it, and began to ponder the events to come.

Ieyena read the message from Jim. It was encrypted with her private codes. It must be really secret. She waited inside her private ship in a private hangar on Coruscant. They were rare, but they did exist for those who had money and privileges in the government. She heard the familiar footsteps of an old friend. He ascended the ramp and their eyes met, having not seen each other for over half a decade. He was in a plain jumpsuit, one worn often by mechanics, and he looked like one. He did in fact have quite a few skills in that area though they were no match to her own. She was the real mechanic. He often came to her with his ship's problems, of more serious natures.

Good to see you, Jim. I wish we could meet again under happier circumstances, but something tells me this is not a social call. She waited for him to explain.

"Ieyena, it is good to see you, but I am afraid you are right." He kissed her softly on the right side of her cheek in greeting. "I have a dangerous and important mission for you, though it is of a personal nature."

Her eyebrows raised. She was not prepared for what he was about to ask her. "Oh?"

He pulled out a datacard and handed it to her. "This datacard will give you the location at any given time of a secure traveling school for children of people of wealth or high positions."

Ieyena knew of these schools. They were large ships, heavily shielded and guarded by a fighter squadran, never in the same place twice. They used secret algorithms to choose their routes of travel, and if Jim had managed to obtain the algorithm she was indeed impressed, though he had some skills in slicing, this was definitely above his own skills in that regard. These companies were to keep children of important people safe while educating them in space, always traveling.

Jim produced a second datacard. "This datacard contains legal documents granting myself and you whom I have appointed guardianship of a young child whom we both know. You will go and pick up this girl from the Galantar and take her to Quatali. You must protect her and shadow her presence in the Force. It is of utmost importance that Layha nor any of her family know of her whereabouts. Should Layha find out the secret of her location it could threaten the safety of all of us, especially her family. I have been given legal custody of her by the Hapan Court, though the Solo family does not remember any of this they begged me to do it. You must hide her with your family on Quatali. You can give her to their care, or protect her yourself. You must complete this mission successfully. It is of great importance."

Ieyena paused, taking it all in. She did not respond at first. She had a lot to think about. She questioned the ethics involved, but she knew in the end Jim was right. It was important to hide this girl from Layha, and let her think of her dead. Layha, herself, was dead, as she was no longer Layha. She was a Sith now, with a new identity. She would do it. It would put her in grave danger, but she would do it in memory of the Layha she once knew and loved, and for her family, and for Jim.

Alright Jim, I'll do it. She sighed. Boy you sure can be demanding sometimes.

I know, he said softly. Thanks. There were tears in his eyes. There was something else on his mind, but it was clear he did not wish to discuss it.

How are things with you and um...your new friend?

Dana? How do you know about her?

Come on Jim, lets be realistic here. You can't keep these kinds of things from me.

They are going fine I suppose. He smiled. Quite fine.
