OOC: I ask that people not post in this thread. Please and thank you.

Beviin Ka'rakal tracked his target to his latest hiding place. The man had slipped up this time, big. He would finally be able to collect on the bounty that had been placed on the man called StarRunner. There would be no escape for him this time.

"Daddy, I'm tired." Little Rhian declared. She drooped where she stood, barely managing to remain on her feet. "I don't feel good either."
Kivin, stopped and scooped up his daughter. He pressed his cheek against her's and felt the fever that raged in her small body. She needed medical attention. However, because of this need, he knew that the end of the hunt had come. Kivin wanted to rail against fate, and destiny.
It had been a long hunt, he had made sure of that. Kivin briefly wished that he could have proven his innocence, that he had not killed those people. But in desperately trying to keep his illustrious heritage hidden, there was no way he could do so. It was either that, or he would lose his daughter. And now he was going to lose her anyways.
"Rhian Sky, I need you to go and hide. Hide and not come out for nothing, until you feel that it's safe." Kivin instructed his child. "Now give me a big hug sweetling, and a kiss goodbye. I don't know if we will get to see one another again."
"No Daddy. You can't."
Rhian cried. "You're going to go away like Mommy did. I don't want you to go."
The girl clung to her father, as fever hot tears streaked down her face.
"I don't want to go, but it's time. I have no choice in the matter. I promise that you will be safe. Now go and hide."
Kivin released Rhian, and gave her a gentle shove away from him. He watched as she did as he bid, as she scrambled to find a hiding place. Then he turned and moved away, knowing that the Mando was close.

"You're making a mistake, Mando. I didn't kill those people." Kivin informed Beviin. He had climbed up on a boulder and was looking down on the armor clad hunter.
"You are the one called StarRunner, are you not?" Beviin asked, as he aimed his wrist weapon. He watched the other man warily, for it was rumored that he used a lightsaber. How the man had come by it, it was unknown. Nothing was said about StarRunner being a Force user. Also, it was extremely rare, happening among some Force using families for a child to be born unable to touch the Force. When it did happen, the child was taught at least the basics of using a lightsaber in combat. Maybe that was the case of the man who stood in front of him.
"I have been called that, yes. However, I was framed. One of those that died was my wife. Why would I kill my own wife?"
Hearing that threw Beviin off. Still, people killed their spouses for various reasons. And a lot of them came up with excuses for why they did it. He said as much.
"Believe me or not, as you choose. I knew that there would be no convincing you to change your course today. I just hope you can live with yourself after what happens here takes place." Kivin declared. He ignited the weapon in his hand, extending forth an orange blade of energy.

OOC: Will add more later.

The battle started and raged hot and fierce. Kivin could tell that it was not going well for him. He was half sick, what with trying to care for his daughter who was sick, and still grieving for his dead wife. Still, neither man was winning, as each were equally matched. However, the tides of the fight changed when Rhian came running out from her hiding place, screaming.
"DADDY!"
As soon as Kivin saw his daughter, he knew that the battle was over and that he had lost. He turned towards her, and felt the blaster bolt impact against this back. Pain lanced through him, and he knew that death loomed.
"Mando, take care of my daughter." Kivin ordered. He dropped do the ground, and scooped the girl up against his chest.
Beviin realized that the man he had been hunting was not who he thought he was. There was no way that the StarRunner would have protected a child to keep her from coming to harm.
"She will be as much of my own if she had been born to me. There are no orphans among the Mandalorians." Beviin answered, before asking "What is her name?"
"Rhian. She's also called Sky." Kivin sank to the ground, letting Rhian go. He fought to keep the encroaching darkness at bay for a bit longer. "We are of the clan of those who walk the sky."
Beviin nodded. He then bent over just far enough to scoop up the girl.
"Ni kyr'tayl gai sa'ad, Rhian." Beviin stated, looking into the girl's face. He then turned back to her father. "I have just adopted her according to my customs. I will raise her as my own, and teach her the ways of being a Mandalorian. If you tell me your name, I will see to it that she never forgets it."
"Kivin."
"Kivin, I am Beviin Ka'rakal of the Clan Skirata. And your daughter shall be known as Rhian Trahkehmeer from this point on."
Beviin bent over and picked up the jetii'kad and hung it on his utility belt. "She'll get this when she is older. I will make sure that she knows how to use it."
Kivin nodded, his eyes fighting to remain open. He watched as the Mando placed Rhian down.
"I love you Rhian. I will always be with you. Now go.
"Bye Daddy. I love you too." Rhian said, wiping away her tears. She placed a kiss on Kivin's cheek, before she was picked up again by Beviin.
The Mandalorian walked away, leaving the dying man alone. Kivin was greatfull for that, as he did not want his daughter to see him die. When Beviin turned around a few minutes later, the only way that one could tell that someone had died was the imprint of a body in the dirt.

Sky sobbed as she was carried off by the armored man. She watched over his shoulder, as her father died. Then she was looking at something else as the Mando turned to look back.
"Ad'ika, please stop crying. I know that you will miss Kivin greatly. However now is not the time for tears." Beviin told his new daughter. "I promised him that you will grow up, and that I would raise you as my own."
Sky looked up at the helmeted head and frowned.
"You took him away from me. Why would you raise me as your own?" Sky demanded. She glared at Beviin. "And what's an ad ika?"
Beviin laughed, as she mangled the Mando'a word. He would be teaching her more than just combat, but a new language as well. A new life completely. He realized that he was looking forward to the challenge of raising Sky.
"Ad'ika means little daughter. And you may call me Buir."
"Boo ear?"
Sky tried to say the new word.
Beviin laughed.
"That's not bad. You'll get the hang of it."

A year and some months later...........

"Buir, this armor is heavy." Sky complained to her father.
"That is because you are not used to it. There will come a time when you will feel naked without your armor."Beviin assured the girl. "You are doing very well. You handle a blaster like you were born with one in your hands."
He took his daughter through several exercises, teaching her new skills all the time. He knew of someone who was able to help her learn the weapon of her deceased father.
