Marc stopped at Tavria's office and knocked on the door. He came himself to pick her up for their lunch date. He had special reservations at the Royal Palms restaurant, which was an indoor beach, if such a thing could be imagined, very impressive indeed.

Tavria looked up as she heard the knock on her door. Jason stood up from the other side of her desk and smiled at her before rising and opening the door. Tavria stood, grabbed her sidearm and other essentials and headed out the door and smiled as she saw Marc, "So let us see if the Royal Palms is as good as you say it is. If it is, we will have to use it for catering. And it better be Marc, as I am giving up my lunch to taste test this place."

Marc smiled as they approached the beautiful dome. Royal Palms was a huge restaurant, about the size of a half mile in length and width, a nightmare for the Royal Guard. The IRSB also lent a task force due to the size of the facility. It was one of the fanciest and perhaps one of the most expensive places on the planet. Not that it wasn't a small expense. The part that Tavria didn't know is that Marc had bought out the entire level's reservations and placed them with random employees of Stratus Industries and undercover agents and guards. It looked completely natural, and everyone's timing of arrival and departure would be staggered, but it was perhaps the most elaborate operation he had ever managed. Thank goodness for his staff.
They arrived at the restaurant in an armored hoverlimo, and were greeted by the Maitre'd immediately and escorted to their romantic and private table. A special vase of Tavria's favorite flowers were in the center, and the napkins had her homeworld's symbol engraved on it.

Tavria looked around the restaurant as she sat at the table and smiled as she saw IRSB Major Mat Langley, her Chief of Security who went with her everywhere, before she looked at Marc, "So is this where you take all of your friends, Marc? Or is this your first time here as well. I have to say though, I have never been to a restaurant that has napkins with Maires' Seal embroidered on it. I'm guessing that, and the vase of Haffa-blossoms were your doing." Tavria smiled at Marc, he was always such a good friend, "So how is everything going on Kuat? I hope you haven't been spending all your evenings working on KDY."

"KDY has been a bit of a ...touchy subject lately. They are having strikes and many other issues going on, and it is causing a major slowdown and trying to get the Prince's Pride II finished. We ended up salvaging the Pride and began construction on the Pride II. It is faster, more powerful, and really truly incredible, but its not yet finished, and the stalling is really upsetting... So on to a new topic..." He reached across the table and grabbed her hand. "A little legal help may prove helpful, if you are up to it." He smiled again. Suddenly a reporter broke through the security and rushed over to him. Guards immediately moved to intercept but before they could he was able to ask his question.
"Your Highness, what is the Royal Family's views on the proposed ammendment to ban the use of the Force and to arrest all Force welders?
The Prince was shocked. Guards had intercepted him by now and were carrying him away. The Prince stood up and motioned for the reporter to be brought back. He had not heard of any such thing. What in the blazes was going on? What in Tarkin's name was he talking about? Why hadn't anyone else heard of this? Being a representative of the Royal Family, he was one of the few that was not required to meet with legal counsel or ask permission before speaking. He was confident in his own independent authority, and he was about to show it. He stood to his full height. The Royal Family is strongly against any such motions. Any proposed acts against members of the Royal Family is in direct violation of the Charter of the Imperial Republic, and the Throne itself. I warn against any who seek this path, as it is one bordering on High Treason. He motioned for the guards. "Away with him. No more disturbances." He returned to his table and resumed eating. "Well that was certainly interesting. What did you think?"

Tavria smiled at Marc after the reporter was taken away, "And here I thought that you couldn't be intimidating, and then you go and scare that reporter. Didn't you mother ever tell you to play nice with the other kids, Marc? "
Tavria placed her hand on Marc's, "Now as to my opinion on the use of force, I have to say that I would support an amendment to the charter baning the use of force against innocent Civilians and non-combatants. Though I can't say I am in favor of banning the Force, you can't really help it if you are force sensitive or not. Though I do think that people need to limit their usage of it. Now Marc, I would be really interested in getting to know your opinions on the development plan for Maires's West Port District. I would love if you could come out on a trip home with me and provide your technical expertise on development to the project."

The ever-so-beautiful Tavria Treyson blabbed on and on, definitely a ploy, when he held his finger to her lips to shush her. Then, without warning, he pulled her in close, and kissed her deeply and passionately. Lucky for both of them, the guard had just expelled the press from the building, due to the last encounter. He held their embrace, and then whispered. "I love you."

Tavria was abruptly interrupted in her conversation, by Marc putting his finger to her lips and then the subsequent kiss, that she wasn't expecting. She savored the kiss and how close Marc was to her, she could smell his sweet aroma. She smiled as he kissed her and then replied, "Then marry me, for I love you too."

Marc paused, surprised at the boldness of his lover. He had not seen this coming. He always knew Tavria to be a very strong woman, one of the key reasons perhaps why she served as his older brother's second-in-command. He knew saying yes would probably complicate his life, change everything, perhaps even for the better. Whatever challenges lay ahead, whatever political nightmares they would encounter, and whatever this meant for his career, he did not care. It was time for a change. He smiled back at her, kissed her again, and wholeheartedly, with all his might and will, said "Why not?"

Tavria was kissed again, before hearing his response. She smiled at him, "Great, I can't wait. I'm going to love you being the first and last thing I see every day. Now we just have to have you tell your family".

Family. Marc thought. Well he would either be getting a "Well it's about time" lecture or else a lot of raised eyebrows when they asked him how exactly he popped the question....that would be more interesting. He chuckled. He was looking forward to it.
"So, when is this trip to Maires you speak of?"

Tavria laid her hand atop Marc's. "We can go to Maires or wherever your heart desires, but I think we would have to wait until after the Charter Celebration is over. Otherwise, I fear that your brother will fail to write his charter speech."
