Blake stood and addressed his fellow Senators, it was finally his time to speak about the most pressing issue of the day and certainly an issue that he took very, very seriously, "Supreme Chancellor Quick and my distinguished colleagues, I stand before you today to propose an amendment to the Charter. This is surely one of the most pressing issues of the day to address and I am honored to lead the charge for what is right. Today I speak about the gruesome and irreparable behavior of torture, a thought that is very sickening and disgusting to our very cores. It is a practice that I abhor and severely detest, and that is why I can no longer sit by and watch these grievances happen over and over again, without standing up for what I believe in. Today, we must all take responsibility for putting an end to this act of pure evil, and change the reality that we live in, to one where this act will never happen again. Senators, we must work with each other to abolish this behavior in the galaxy, so that it will never happen again. I call upon all of the Senators of the Imperial Republic to support my Amendment to the Charter Banning the Torture of Phoenixes, our national symbol and our pride and joy. No reason, no movement, no annoyance can justify the intentional torture of Phoenixes, our national symbol, ever. The practice is unacceptable by any moral standard. It is time to act to protect the Phoenix, our National Symbol, we can not wait another year and we must not wait another year. Any member of this body who votes against this proposed amendment, frankly doesn't deserve to be an Imperial Republic Senator."

Blake waited to hear the Senate's response to his life's work, in making the galaxy a better place for Phoenixes.
